Proper way to pick up a bike. We should all learn this.

always have wanted a KLR but next bike is gotta be a Dr650. Love my DR350. Finally saved up enough and almost pulled the trigger then got the bad news from the taxman. Thanks for another letdown Obama...

I loves me a DR 650. Not sure I could part with 'ole Fugly. Add a few goodies, twist the throttle and you're hooked.

I must agree a stock DR650 is far from my first pick.

    But a few modifications
suspension, seat, taller bars, pumper carb, exhaust, piston kit, cam, better headlight, wider and lower pegs, aggressive tires, hd tubes, luggage, braided lines, hand guards, better mirrors......

Ohh and a rattle can of black paint.

    Fugly Rocks :clap

Weird that the ones from my TE-610 would also fit your mini trail. (I should have left them on for the Owenton ride)

I hope they improve your riding skills as well as they worked for me... :D

Last summer while reading about rides I couldn't attend because of my injury. I began thinking about a support vehicle for dual sport rides.
A follow up or clean up vehicle that could handle the terrain and haul things.
I had a Jeep Cherokee, but it was too big.
It needs to be able to get a broken bike off the mountain and carry at least 3 people.
Would take extra fuel, cooler, tire changing tools, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, back board, tarp, flash lights...
After doing some research I found this.

So I found a 2 door late model Vitara to build it out of.
Before I start building, does anyone have any ideas of what else I might need to build into it?

I will be adding a 2" hitch receptacle front and rear for winch lock in and also to attach a bike hauler if needed.
Hoping to keep it under 2500 lbs.

Keep an eye on the Indiana thread, they sometimes move the lunch meeting location around. I think they are talking about going to a place in Morgantown this weekend.
