That looks impossible on video - and video always looks easier than it really is...

    Do you have a Recluse?

Yeah - I'm not sure that's one I need to do again. No Recluse. But this trail definitely could've used one. My clutch did suffer some fade...but came back fine after giving it a break. :-)

Hey Randy, Colorado=land of rocks and roots...big ones! Try Star trail or Timberline around Gunnison; turns into a trials session.
I'm on vacation the coming week and free to ride if you're around.

Thanks Chris. I'll put those on "my CO list" as I'll be a regular there now. Sorry, I'm in WV this week - presenting to the WV State Legislature (Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Subcommittee) on why they should fully embrace OHV recreation. Wish me luck.

Planning a trip to Wayne with a few dirt bike/dual sports and quads October 6/7. Anyone have some good tips for trails and areas to ride? Mostly novice riders. Planning on camping Friday night, riding most of the day Saturday and coming back Saturday night.

How does camping work there? Only designated areas or can you set up anywhere?

Also, if we buy a day pass, will that work? Since we will be coming in later Friday, and probably not riding, I would rather get the day pass instead of the 3 day pass if possible.

Thanks! After looking around I was kinda set on starting at New Straitsville and riding the main corridor to Monday Creek, but after seeing your photos I'm back to considering Hanging Rock.

Hanging Rock adds an extra 1/2 hour to a two hour trip to the main part of Wayne for us. Seems like the consensus is that Hanging Rock is less traveled, but Monday Creek has more trails and variety.... decisions....

I've ridden both and your assessment is my opinion too. Monday Creek should be fine for novice riders too as long as they don't "exceed their size" as Jimmy Lewis would say. :-) Have fun!

    Good week.

Attended the Virginia 4WD State ride at Oak Ridge Estate. They donated $1000 to Sharetrails/BRC! :clap

Then I hit George Washington NF for some riding.

40 miles of 4WD roads and dual track trail. I brought back some rocks from Colorado and put them down. HA! (click on the Vimeo logo to go full screen)

Then did some hiking on the AT near the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Mount Marshall)

On Tuesday, I was fortunate to speak to the West Virginia legislature on ORV recreation along with Steve Salisbury from the AMA. Here's an article about the presentation:
