Nice ride today, a memorial ride put together by Dynobob, whose thread we're all enjoying. Bob picked some beautiful curvy backroads, then a ferry across the mighty Ohio into KY. Great ride, great company. IMG_0428.JPG d IMG_0426.JPG

Is that the Augusta or Anderson Ferry? Looks like it would've been a great ride.

It was the Jenny Ann on the Augusta run.

Steve, it was great riding with you today. Perfect day to get out to Pike. BigRed, we thought we saw you pull on on your DR, but you headed for a trail and then we didn't see you the rest of the time. We assumed you may have decided to leave and dual sport in the area.

This is a long read (and not new). But, it's exciting to me to think a decent, modern, mid size twin adventure bike could be coming to market - Maybe as soon as next year! I envision the 750 Africa Twin coming back too.

    READ HERE

I've seen a promo vid of the 790 Duke. Not seen anything on the T7 or 790A.

For now, I'm considering a larger displacement ADV bike to use as more of a touring bike (what I really consider them anyway) that I can take on a gravel or forest road. I'd consider the Super Tenere ('14 & up), maybe a Tiger 800 XC or even a vStrom (1000).

Wonderful weather, roads, gravel, dirt and some water (see KAT thread) at Renfro Valley this weekend! I finally got to ride with Jeff (KAT Man) Stoess. Much fun! Put this on your calendar for 2018.

Mike Lafferty and the KTM crew were there in full force. Paul Jordan - route finder extraordinaire.

Russell Bobbitt rode the route two-up. Impressive!

I really enjoy riding at Pike. It's challenges my noobness while still letting me have fun. Assuming it's not mucky, like it has bee 2/3 times I've been there lol

What app are you using? I really like how it has the topography on it.

It's an older Google app called My Tracks. They discontinued it a year or so ago. I believe many of the GPS apps and apps like Rever can do this tracking as well. Most use Google Maps and the layer can be switched to "Terrain."

Anyone interested in joining me at the Stoney Lonesome Dualsport/Adv ride in Columbus IN next weekend....PM me. I'll be pitching my Sharetrails.org plan to reopen the Hoosier National Forest to riding and to identify a core group of Indiana riders to help me with the political process.
