Great ride report over some country not too many people know about! Thanks for all the picts. :clap The steep canyon on the way to Los Lirios is San Isidro. Now, I am cranked up. Gotta get a trip going that way. :thumb

PS; Preaching here, but you guys ought to give up the butts. A riding friend, age 50+, just decided a year ago to START! :huh FWIW.:1drink

dems my people, yall. Fin to raise up and get my mexican moto on. is a damn shame I am stuck in chicago. But preciate the story fo sho.

BTW I have changed money at that casa de cambio in the first post a few times, its the last one before the border on 35 heading through Laredo to the main bridge and often has the best rate, but lotsa seedy looking folks there at night. Also the the taco place right there is decent for a meal to go. one stop shopping casa de cambio, gas and tacos. then its a skip over the bridge a jump to the permit building and hop to the edge of nuevo laredo. Think my pops is right laredo rocks for crossing.

Its early now but. . . mark your calendars now. Christmas is a monday so if yall leave on the morning of th 26th We could cross as a group on the 27th and ride through new years in mexico. . .

lets get the chaingolian invasion set up now.

get a dirt capable bike. drz400, ktm whatever, klr, f650 hell even a gs w/passenger would be okay.
get a title and drivers license and credit card and a passport all in the same name.
get your ass to the border by the27th of dec, say at noon.

    finally get into mexico

no excuses, I will by lunch for everyone at the first stop in mexico.

6 days 5 nights south of the border and we shoot back to wintery shitty chicago etc. . .

copper canyon for new years anyone?

    excellant report Phil:nod

Look's like you guys had a great time:wink:

I'm thinkin my DR650 would be the perfect compromise down there:deal

I'm also thinkin if I read enough freeman mexico ride report's, I'll eventually garner sufficient knowledge to pull this trip off:D
