FFer's, Noobs, Big bikes, get out there tonight before the gates close...
...it'sa gona rain.
Fuck!! Shit!! I'm really sorry guys. I took a wrong turn. For some stupid ass reason I headed back the same way we came! By the time I got to 4 corners I knew I fucked up.
I hope you didn't wait too long for me or worse, come looking for me. I will have to get a couple of phone numbers next time.
It was really nice seeing everyone. Thanks for the fun ride!
Chris, you missed a good second half last night. Not a soul on the mountain and we had it all to ourselves.
Grinch saw you ride off into the sunset in the opposite direction so we figured you had a date.
There's always next week!
So this is what happens when you decide to follow the "Grinch":
I know Dale, you warned me about that tree beforehand!
I still feel like an idiot taking the wrong road! Holy shit, how hard can it be to get lost with only a few fireroads to follow each other on! All in all it's a blast riding with you guys!
FWIW, I'm amazed at the Baja Designs lighting.
Gate status for this weekend going up Maple Springs side? Closed? Or Open?
thanks to this wonderful weather and the fact that our forestry department doesn't like to work our gates are closed and will most likely remain closed for the next week until she dries out.
Wish it was open, man it would be epic. But since we taxpayers are at their mercy we get the poo end of the stick.
Day ride tomorrow maybe...
might be possible for me. Last day at work and moving on to my own venture so have a few days off.
Fuck me, i just read the last 150 pages of this thread. just bought my plated 650r Friday...I Live in Trabuco canyon next to Holy Jim.
Can't wait to meet some of you crazy bastards up there sometime. Think the silverado gate will open by Friday? Where do u guys buy your passes?
Come on down. We ride every week. I live just above the entrance to holyjim/ trabuco canyon off of plano trabuco.
We should meet up.
No passes unless you plan on parking a vehicle. Most guys here boycott the passes anyway as I am sure you have read.
Sounds good, I stop at cooks all the time, have to do a shot everytime I pass, which is often. I mostly ride street, but after a 500 mile street ride taking me through Ocotillo a month ago I got the itch for dirt. If you guys are down for a day ride tomorrow I am in. I currently work nights so nights aren't going to work for me, not to mention my BD kit took a shit on me on my way home from the purchase.
Good to hear no damn Adv pass needed
Adv pass is only for parking. We all pay State and Federal use taxes every year as good law abiding citizens......... However, the Supreme court found the ADV pass to be against the law a year or so ago.
Hi all, noob from MA here looking to check this place out for the first time on Friday AM
anyone know if the gates are open/will be open?
Here is the link to closure reports but everyone says they only update it like once a decade. We had some good rain for 3 days this past weekend in Trabuco.
Any frequent riders know how quickly they might get this open?
I would for sure go Friday morn if they open up.
this message is self destructing...
okay, I'll check the message board for responses since I'm aware that the state's website isn't up to date
where do you enter these trails?
are these the fire roads that you enter from silverado or the trails south of ortega?
I want to checkout the fire roads that you can drive up...
thumpthis - unfortunately neither of my dirt bikes are road legal, and I'm just going to peruse up the fire roads with my truck
