I am a fast rider! LOL
Was thinking of going to CNF this Sunday. I've never been there. Anyone want to go that knows some trails that don't follow the jeeps?
I have only fought with the Jeeps.
I don't know the other tracks, but I am willing to learn.
If we can get a small group together.. I'm up for anything. My son is coming up. Probably take him to Husky/Randsburg on Saturday. Open ride..
Your "location" says you're in Ventura so I'll offer a couple of thoughts. For starters I'd suggest that you PM some of the guys who have already posted info on rides they've taken just to be sure you don't come a long way for nothing. From what I can tell these guys have found some pretty cool places to go and some interesting ways to get there, but I suspect that they don't want to draw too much attention.
The truth is that nearly all of the open (read LEGAL) routes in the Cleveland NF are the dirt roads you've already heard about (Maple Springs, North and South Main Divide, Indian Truck Trail, Bedford Canyon, etc.) Just like others have said, the roads can be full of knuckleheads. If you pay attention and watch your speed you can still have a good time.
I try to make a run up that way almost weekly but I tend to prefer the less technical stuff... (I'm old and ride a KLR)
Any of you FF's heading that way???
Ride safe -
I say... LET'S DO IT. Lets say "medium" bike ride. Your KLR, HBSurfDad and his XRr, I'll sport the DR and we'll see who else wants to go. It will be an 'exploration' day for me, so I want to get an over-view.
Meeting time: ?
Meeting place: ?
Ride: Up to you guys.. cuz I dunno chit.
I'm in for Sunday lmk where you guys wanna meet. Im going to ride 2up with Troy
This reminds me that I need to buy a new Air pump after loosing mine at the Big Bear ride back in June.
Sounds like we're on for a ride.
SUNDAY 9/24 9:00 AM
LOCATION: Maple Springs Gate (31330 Silverado Canyon Rd, Silverado, CA 92676)
I'm thinking Maple Springs Rd. to Santiago Peak, from there we can take Main Divide South to Indian Truck Trail to I-15. Depending on how were doing we can either take pavement back to OC via Ortega or hop north a bit to Bedford Canyon and head back up to Main Divide.
Expect dusty and potentially crowded fire roads with some loose rocky areas. Total miles from the gate 50+/-
Small and medium bikes should be no problem. Big bikes are OK, but might require a bit more skill.
All are welcome.
If nothing else, I want to see this 2-up riding with Troy!
I guess this means I am riding this Sunday...........
I have not gone south from 4 corners after the "break". I like the emptiness of the trails north.
See you at 9:00
Sunday I will be starting surgery on the YZ250
not so fond of the Vstrom on main divide...
I will park across the street from here

Red vw van. Leaving at 8:55 from there.
Or I may just ride over and go to the gate.
hey that looks like fun! after 2 weeks of wrenching on the Jeep. I need this haha
@Davethestick might be a drive for you but you wanna do this instead of rowher sunday?
Yeah. I'm headed to N. Main Dived from San Clemente in a bit. Hoping mountain is as empty as it was last week.
Hahahahah! Thats the XRR brotherhood right there.
Will we be able to stage out of there, IE trucks? If so,Sweet sounds like a good meet spot. Hopefully theres no traffic heading down that early.
Yeah lets do it, Stoked for a new area if youre not down to try the hill climb from hell haha!
I believe that is a good parking spot, I have seen many bikes leave from there.
I'll be coming up Bedford so I can meet up with the group at four corners around 9:30. Lookout for the lone white husky.
We will pause at 4 corners no matter where we go.
hello, i'm the guy who met all of you on the yamaha wr250r (not the first guy without gear, the geared up guy) hope you had a good ride. looking forward to do an actual ride with all!. I live around santiago canyon and jamboree so keep me posted!
Hey guys. DSchmidt here. It's a little after 12:00 noon. I decided to continue on toward Indian Truck Trail. So perhaps you can catch up to me later on.
