Clutch master cylinder leaking

    Thanks for the reply - I had removed the circlip and could not get the piston out, seems like I was using a screwdriver that was slighty too big pushing it from the other side and teh spring was broken in 2 places = 3 bits!

    Never heard of this failure before - seems kind of odd. I'll get a master cylinder kit - expensive to replace the spring (£30/$50) but guess it won't hurt to have a new cylinder in there, I don't want it going in Morocco or something!

    So you are better off with a new/sleeved m/c planning a trip like that. Never heard of broken spring in there. I guess there is always the first time.

    +1 on a radial unit, I found a cheap (sort of) used radial MC from the Superduke, a bit tougher to squeeze but very dependable so far (after 30k km ). In comparison
    I 've had 3 Oem MC's replaced for my first 30k Km with the bike....
