Dang Clay, you are having a rough weekend. I have some DR-650 leavers (brake/clutch) if you broke them.

Bring that gun on the camping trip please!

Was that 30 rounds in about 2 seconds?

I haven't done anything with this website since I joined but lurk, but now there is a thread for my local area. :clap I am really busy this weekend, but I could probably spare Friday to go wherever you go until you camp. I don't have a desert tank on my DRZ and have found that I only have about 70 safe miles or so between fillups. How far are we thinking between gas stations?

I have a stock tank on my DR650 so I am only good for about 100 miles. We are well within range with gas options in Douglas, Apache , and Sunnyside. I did this ride earlier this year with no problem and using the limited gas stops along the way.

This route sounds great to me. I recall a few nice campgrounds near Portal as you go up the mountain. Distances for gas shouldn't be an issue for the guys without big tanks.

The ride over the Chiris is awesome so hopefully it will be open. I would say any skill level or bike setup can make this route. We definitely won't leave anyone behind (or at least I won't, kind of a moto where I come from).

Hope all that can make it come out for the ride and maybe a few will stay for the night, the more the merrier.

Any of the Sierra Vista folks interested in meeting in town and riding to Bisbee together? 0800 in Bisbee requires leaving here by what, 0730 or slightly earlier? Looks like we should have good weather for the ride and camping.

I went to the doctor today:

Sinusitis, tonsilitis, and an ear infection! :deal

My throat looks... disgusting. Meds just kicked in though, hopefully I'll be there.

u went to a doctor? man, i figured a KLR guy would use a vet cuz its cheaper, or maybe just check out a 30 year old medical book form the library and do it himself.

It is a shame you guys are sick, but don't worry, next week after we all sleep in our tents in the woods on the first of January, we will all be sick and you will be getting better. :D

7:30 at the Shell sounds good to me.

I've got the knobbies mounted so I'm ready for some snow!

Gas shouldn't be an issue, but some of the stations in the boonies(Rodeo, Animas) may be closed on the 1st. I hear a 1 litre soda bottle works well for spare gas.

you guys have tents? must be bmw riders. :rofl real men sleep on the ground with pine needles for a bed and a rock for a pillow. after riding my xr that far, it won't matter anyway.

who is packing the beer? :freaky has anyone checked to see if the store at portal will be open on new year's day? we could get food/supplies there.

btw, just put brand new d606's on the xr for this trip. :clap

I'll get to the BBC early and get us a table since I'm in Bisbee. How many are coming for breakfast? Also how many are camping? Should we plan a meal with each contributing or just each bring their own? Is anyone bringing anything that cooks or is it campfire/meat :kumbaya on a stick type stuff?

I'm considering grabbing a couple MRE's. Not the best tasting :dg :spam , but hella good for the intended purpose. Anyone interested?

Sounds like you need Jack Daniels...not beer!:rofl

I am meeting for breakfast, and camping. For food I was gonna bring an MRE, my single burner cook stove, a very small pot for boiling water for oatmeal and coffee. You could go "Survivor Man" and trap a squirrel, skin it, and eat it Raw............or buy ravioli at the store.

I have a new D606 front in the shop but I did not put it on, wonder if I should do that? I am running Saharas now.
