I use the OEM panniers for mine so I wouldn't know, but I'd give yamahasupertenere.com a try. I'm sure there will be a couple of people in there that could help you out.

191 is a blast from Clifton up to Eager. I would include that on my way up there or back.

191 is better northbound, climbing the winding hills, than south descending them.

Google the az back country discovery route, and just skip the cherry creek section which I don't think is in keeping with your intended fun settings. Empire ranch is too sandy for slicks too.

I like 191 southbound but I guess I'm a little different (just make sure the life insurance is paid up and current if heading south)! It's like 100 miles of the hitting the apex out of the corkscrew at Laguna Seca and dropping down the elevator, SWEET! :eek1

went up to the mogollon rim via 191. came back down young road that went behind roosevelt lake, then took the back way from mammoth to benson.
young rd was a great ride. mammoth to benson was a sand pit, not a good road for a tenere in exp tires. i think i lost 2 of my 9 lives on that short strip.

Hey- just moved to town from Drum and definitely map recon'd 191- you thinking about hitting it up again anytime soon? It looks years better than anything I found in the Adirondacks :clap

That'd be the 13th? Sounds good to me. I'm making up for a lot of lost riding time coming from a state that has snow for 7 months...

I'll check in later this week to confirm, but it seems plausible. unfortunately, one guy that i was hoping would join me got tagged on fry and his ZX8 is on my lift waiting for an insurance adjuster to decide it's fate. although his exclusion will mean we dont have to stay on the pavement.

Sorry about your buddy man- hopefully he's no worse for the wear. Always blows to see a ride wrecked too! A local 'law enforcement professional' told me that those traffic cams actually dropped the accident rates by almost 40% in Sierra Vista so I cant imagine what kind of spaced out people are driving around here...

I'm going to look at Mt Lemmon next weekend for a warm up before Alpine the following wknd. Right now the only steed in the stable is my ZX6R so my dirt ventures maybe somewhat limited. Looking to add a KLR someday but right now that one's a little ways out. You riding the 690? Checked one out at the International Motorcycle Show in January- those things are pretty sick!

Gents, I'm still in for the ride to Alpine on the 13th. Can I propose a meet up at Cochise Motorsports parking lot? Not sure what a reasonable time to start might be but I suppose a meet up at 08:00 would get us there around lunch? Being new to AZ, definitely open to suggestions from folks who've done this a couple times. Really glad to see there's interest in going up on this ride- hopefully the monsoons get it all out today! There may also be one rider joining us from my gym (crossfit huachuca) as well.

    Looking forward to it fellas!

How about the gas station right across the street?

    8. Hmmm.

I guess an early start would be in order.
