In the immortal words of Laura bingle, " Where the bloody hell are you?"
We got to the blackwood hotel in time for a late lunch at the cafe across the road ( don't - good food, but stupidly expensive) and aside from a KTM 1190 and a lone white DR whose rider we couldnt find, we didn't see anyone else, so after an hour or so, we went home...
The locals assured us there wasn't another pub in the area and we only saw a couple of trail bikes in the forest... were we in the wrong place entirely?

It was for a ride on the Saturday that 12 inmates went on and a meal at the pub Saturday Night. There was around 16 people there.
Most of us had left this morning by around 10:00am

That's a shame . We had twelve bikes I think on our meanderings around "The Wombat" on Sat. We left the pub at about eleven in the morning. Didn't actually get lost but certainly tried. A little mud, some tricky inclines and a lot of laughs. Tea at the pub on Sat night was very good and breakfast next morning across the road was good food but scarely expensive. As the only KTM in an infestation of Cockroaches on DRs it was a great weekend, thanks to all who organised it.

Thanks to the cockroaches for organizing a great ride, enjoyed the mix of tracks and met some interesting characters , all with better riding skills than mine. Gave me the confidence to go places i normally wouldn't go by myself .learnt a lot, how easy Drs are to work on after you drown them, how gs 800 can go places with slick tyers that normal bikes with knobbies go , how not to dismount off a ktm or they will break.
Dee Cee there's 2 pages of this on the ADV home page 2012 ktm 500 exc page 101__102. . Sorry don't know how to paste links .would normally post photos but was to busy picking up the Husky and trying to catch cockroaches, you catch one and there is another 6 disappearing into the Bush .You can't get away from them either ' was traveling home on Sunday through wombat and get passed by Bergdonk. ( I think he stopped for a sleep on the way as he passed me a second time just before I left the wombat park )
Thanks all for a good weekend hope to cross tracks again sometime.
    Cheers

Great to see that the Cockroaches on DR’s rally at Blackwood was a success. The ride led by DeeCee on Saturday was fantastic and had everything from high speed dirt roads to tracks that rated about a 7.5 on the SNOTTNESS SCALE. VTwin provided some very welcome comic relief by fully drowning himself in a large puddle and being unable to get up off his hands and knees due to a chronic case of the giggles.

Camel 640 did really well and he stretched his experience quite a bit on the Husky, sorry to see his mate retire early under the weather but we hope to see him back next year.

I am getting some photos together and will do a ride report over the next week. Thanks to all those that made the effort to come along and make it a great event.

God bless the “Cockroach Carriage Collective”

Thanks all for a great ride. Splint comes off my hand next week. Hopefully by next year I’ll have built up a few more skills. See you then.
