14 Broken Compass Brewing in Breck, a delicious coconut Porter.

15 Bakers Brewing in Silverthorn, housed in an old IHOP so a little dated outside but good suds and tasty sloppy joes!

Yesterday was our first grey CO weather. Beautiful when we left BV and actually started the day with a hot hike down Brown Canyon NP and when we got to Breck it was 15' cooler and north of I70 it dropped another 5? No complaints a cooler day was a welcome change. We camped along the bank of the Green Mtn Rez and will move to Steamboat early.

4 weeks later and my new GoPro is due to be picked up at a FedEx Store in The Boat!!!!!

And yesterday started with a solid bacon effort! That was the last of the pepper encrusted and one strip of plain thick cut.

And camp at Heckla Junction is super nice. Only my 3rd paid camp of the trip. Just down the hill from the van is the raging Arkansas River. At the far end of camp is a commercial rafting takeout - always a lot of river activity.

Happy America day a day late!

Nothing says America like a homemade fire breathing dragon.

    Well maybe an Elvis impersonator?

How about a camel? Not just any camel a beer drinking camel?

Steamboat has been a bunch of fun. Before the parade I cooked bacon and decorated the van.

Folks are so friendly when I'm cookin on the back of the van, really renews my faith in humanity or perhaps they just want a bacon sample?

After the parade we ran into perhaps the most random cool event - Nordick summer ski flying?

Open competition and your starting spot up the hill is determined by body weight. 12 year olds up high Clydesdale lower.

And finished the day with #17 Mountian Tap Brewing at the base of the ski hill. Great atmosphere, open air beer garden and Mtn views!

But what about #16? That was the day before and after a morning soak in the Strawberry Hot Springs (my weekly bath).

Butcherknife Brewing slightly outside of down town and conveniently located across from the FedEx Store where I finally got my GoPro back!

    A lovely Black and Tan!

Fun times chatting it up! But who couldn't have fun? New town, we just soaked, got the minicube back and now smooth suds!

Chuck the tender laying down the suds has obviously seen it all. Super nice fella we saw him twice yesterday and he remembered our names! First at the race before the parade. They raced on skis with wheels and used the poles to push. His daughter a freshmen in college and on the MSU Bosemen ski team, raced in morning and jumped in the afternoon while Chuck worked the beer booth. Thanks for the hospitality!

    Thanks Steamboat- you rock!

Chill morning at camp (one of us likes to sleep late) a re provision then a 2 hr drive down the Hanging lake for just a single night before Aspen where I'll unload and try Perl Pass!

Depending on where he's at could be in a big black internet hole, there's a lot of them in the mountains. It's hard enough to find gasoline : )

It's been 5 days, so I hope the internet hole is the only one he's fallen into.

Betting he's fine, sure hope so. Was heading to Salida early this week so who knows? Even there the only place I found with a solid connection was McDonalds plus it takes a lot of time to post that stuff, there's just more important things going on..

Soulcraft Brewing in Salida. Great suds and fantastic hospitality. This suds chick and her old man were vanaholics and he even converted their mini van with a bed platform. Again a situation where my van is way cooler than me so I opted not to impregnate her.

#20 and by far the weakest of The Tour..... The Fn Eldo.

The beer tasted like swamp water. So bad in fact this fella shat himself! True story.

But the view from the upper deck kind of made up for the shit suds but not really. Fun but avoid their beer. We crossed the street to celebrate 30 days on the road!

Did the same last Tour, a real deal Wild West steakhouse!

Worlds most expensive honey encrusted bacon!

On Friday I noticed my front end felt odd? I did the bearings this winter but they were starting to go - too much movement for the amount of riding that remains. Not really a shock, I use that front end as a battering ram and did a lot of hard rides this spring. So after Aspen we worked our way down to Sargents Monday night to be able to hit the KTM shop in Gunnison first thing Tue morning.

    We got down in Aspen!
Fun party town and to be able to ride that ski hill - the shit!

After the brewery in Salida I turned over the wheel for Mrs. Manfu to drive us over the pass!

    Ya think she's havin FUn?

Easy trip and love camping on the creek for $20.00

An hour later and the wheel was fixed. They sure are brutal on those side by sides. We saw a few come in totally bartered!

We did 2 nights of the best camping of the trip in Crested Butte. High up on Brush Creek Rd just before the start of Perl Pass - the other side.

    I'm in love!

9,300' and low 50's at night. The road got rough at the end but well worth the risk.

The view out of every window was crazy amazing!

Ya, the bacon view was dream like!

    Both days.

Oh and the riding - equally special!

The water was high from the overnight rain and that crested some navigational challenges. And yes steeper than it looks.

The kind of riding that really lets me know I'm alive - cause ya could easily not be with one mistake! Here's the start of the business.

Not all ST and even the two track is "dynamic". Here's a great example of heavy snow melt sharing the trail.

I worked my way up to this cool ridge up above the clouds and five min later they floated up creating a total whiteout???

And the cube is back! That finicky little GoPro is a real love/hate. I've done some editing but will hold off on downloading any vids cause good wifi does not exists in CO? But those grabs are fantastic.
