Been home about a month now and let me tell ya it's been a difficult transition back to civilization and even more difficult going back to "work". The most difficult ever. Ya get accustomed to such high amounts of stimuli and adventure along with the freedom to do what ever the hell I want when I want. Now "The Man" is calling the shots. It's honestly the most unhappy I've ever been and has me contemplating pursuing more of a passion project than just work. I'm also in my 23rd year of effort at the same job and being 46 years old it could just be the usual mid life shit. Combine with some personal shit it feels like life has been altered?

Pissing over, back to the ADV.

I had some issues with the GP and all the vid bogging down my work computer. Lost the last week or so when I had to free up space for "work" stuff. It can take a long weekend of vids but not like a months worth. Stinks but did have some vid that I sent from the GP to the phone.

Enjoy some hill climb action going up 13,214 foot Fairview Mountain. We all (6 operators) pitched in $5.00 and gave it a go.

One bright spot is that your longevity with this company provides you a very generous amount of time off for your summer ADV trips! Makes it easier to make it through a bad day.

    Manfu,
It's the "usual mid life shit". Been there, done that, and totally understand. If your situation enables you to make a change, bless you, and go for it. We will follow your adventures because you are a Good dude and master story teller. We are with you. Keep being thankful that, by most standards, you are "living the life". 46 years old & healthy with summers off is not bad. Beats the crap out of most alternatives. Hope to ride with you someday in CO. Will be toasting you with a microbrew in Ouray soon!

Thanks, man really I came off like a winey cunt ha! :ace
Solid advise as usual (focus on the positive).
Would that be disc cones or big traffic style? Either way, well deserved trip to "The Office"!

Well, if you insist and in honor of the official last day of summer .......
The final purge of my phone - Independence Pass, Aspen Grottoes and Maroon Bells, it's a quickie!

The last bit of the vid was from Taylor Park around Timberline Trail and the Pieplant mining operation.

I've been using the little GoPro cube as a "performance analyzing " tool (fancy for shooting match footage) this season with the college team. Specifically the goalkeepers and defensive set pieces. One of the great parts of being an assistant is the freedom to be removed from some of the mundane moving parts necessary to keep the machine moving forward and focus on the fun stuff. All in all the vid game along with long distance running has led me to be much less miserable than I was a month ago - man was I in a funk?

In the process of editing the vid for easy digestion and sharing with the team I'v discovered iMovie on the phone.

Yea, trying to crawl out from under that techno rock I've been under since my early resistance to the Macintosh in the mid 80's.
I grab 5, 15 or 30 sec clips from the Session 5 with the phone and create 3-5 min highlight vids then share them with the coaching staff and team via a private YouTube link.
Yea, all with the phone. The link allows the team to see the vid, share with their selected inner circle but out of view of my 19 :nortonsubscribers or random visitors who expect moto fodder.

Lot''s of neat features including movie trailers are available on iMovie. Aside from the trailer feature it let's me zoom, slow down, add text to the clips to aid in using it as an education tool. But the original purpose of the cube was for pure entertainment :deal.

So, for the sake of it's intended purpose, here's 60 seconds of CO fun using just the phone and the GoPro - "In Search of Stoke"!

Awesome “In Search of Stoke” video production. The American Flag Mountain Beaver footage left me speechless. Seriously, though, that’s some cool footage and pro quality editing.
