I meant to say the SEC and Notre Dame are overrated.
Hah, when I see kids walking around the mall with NILL on, instead of Notre Dame gear, you can crow.
Almost didn't get the picks in. So, I chose an even more random set than usual. I figure either 15 or 5 right.
Tee shirt sales? And I thought the BCS ranking was stupid.
Well, it appears that Jeanne Dixon is a scatter brained old hag that knows nothing about football spreads either. Next week I will have to try the Star's psychic.
Looks like I'm heading for 5.
What 'bout dem Dawgs? A fucking push? :huh
I'm fukin drunk ZOU
Past couple weeks nothing cute, last week with minor thought. This week about as fast as I could pick em.
And I end up at about .500
Stanford please beat the Ducks this week. Cocky little bastards...
Would a Florida State vs Alabama game in the BCS Bowl cause a melt down with our Gator faithful?
I think they'd hate Oregon more.
That would be a pretty good game I think. FSU is impressive.
Last night was one of the few nights where I could really watch college football. FSU is impressive and as with everyone I am impressed with their Freshman QB.
Meltdown only if FSU wins. I'm ready for the SEC run to end instead of having Alabama win yet another one though....but FSU would be tough to live with.
I do think they are the two best teams, however...until proven otherwise.
Not sure what Gator fans would have against Oregon though. .
I'm not worried though.... The Gators will upset them in the swamp this Thanksgiving weekend and clear up this BCS trainwreck. .
.....and by upset I mean keeping it with 30.
If the UF-FSU game eis in the pickem that week, I'll pick Florida...just like I always do. Can't believe we pushed this week.
Its that whole SEC SEC thing--- ACC is like having little brother do Ok. Can't stand any place outside of the South.
well.....there is that, I agree.....but meltdown is a bit extreme. We all have friends and family who matriculated at FSU, GT, etc. so lot's of love hate.
They are our little football brothers, kinda. With Louisville joining the ACC there will soon be 4 annual intrastate rivalry games between SEC and ACC teams...that does make them our extended family...sort of.
....of course the ACC has grown way beyond anything even remotely considered southern. BC and Pittsburgh make mizzou look positively deep south.
Jurgen, being a minor league history wonk will point out that Missouri went very pro-South. A big part of the KU/MU rivalry is due to this. You probably know this-- but yes, Missouri is legitimately a "Southern" state in many ways.
Massachusetts? Hell no. But that's not why I'm a big Boston College fan now. Hope their football team can turn back towards the top of the heap.
I've nver been to Columbia, but St Louis and KC have a positively mid-western vibe to me. Of course South Florida has a positively New York vibe...so there's that......
I would agree with you-- been a long time since I've been to StL but have been to KC fairly often and it reminds me a bunch of Omaha. (which I go to about annually)
But, I'm talking history-- and I do believe history flavors mindset, sometime it is merely a spice but a bit of spice can be important.
Haven't been anywhere in Florida other than San Augustine/Daytona as an adult so I can't comment on South Florida.
