Sorry to say I was definitely wrong about Penn State, but it's nice to see them get back to winning. There's a lot of good kids on that team who didn't deserve all this.

At 10 right so far, may improve by one. :huh The reverse plus strategy is at least as effective as the reverse strategy. :lol3

So, reverse Plus gets me 10 right. 4 for 6 in the Plus. Is this an endorsement of the reversePlus(TM) strategy or just more of throwing darts at a board? :eek1

We had 2 pushes, so you did all right this week. I should have just used a coin this time, though...

Other than Jurgen's "sure things" (maximum 6) coin toss it will be.

Heads for left column, tails for right column. :thumb

The coin toss method was used--- no where near a 50/50 break heads/tails.

    Jurgen picked:

    Oklahoma/Kansas State

    LSU/Auburn

    SouthCarolina/Missouri

    Tulsa/Fresno State

I may re-do this at home using my fancy silver dollar rather than a sticky penny. :lol3

I used the same method s last week, since it seemed to work about 50% better than first attempt. Maybe just maybe. busy weekend, have yourselves some awesome banter.

I was kidding about really using a coin toss. :lol3

The guys that choose the line in Vegas know what they're doing. Picking against it will probably never be much better than a 50-50 proposition in the long run....no matter how much effort you put into it.

I'll continue to pick from the gut with an occasional bias....It is highly unlikely that I will ever pick against the Gators, and I assume that SEC teams are naturally better than others due to being tempered in the fire of competition of course. :deal

....ignore Ole Miss and UK results of course :lol3:lol3

Next year, I'm doing two accounts, and one is going to be a strictly coin toss account. It'd be interesting to see how many people beat the coin.

I know, but I doubt the results will be any more pathetic than when I spent a few minutes "analyzing" picks. This year, it was seconds...now I'm trying random strategies-- and finishing near the top. :eek1

The guys that choose the line in vegas give fuck all about making the game an even chance. They are about balancing the money, not the points.:deal

Two years ago picking the favorite for every game would have earned someone a solid 2nd place finish in our ADV contest.

Really starting to wonder why we're bothering with this exercise. Oh well, get your picks or lack thereof in.

Its fun in the sense of checking how I did... just like March Madness. :D

But I wonder if some version of the NFL "survivor pool" version 2.0 from 2011 is the way to go. Pick something like five teams that will cover. If say you get four right the next week pick four or if you only get three right pick three. Down to one person left. :dunno

That's an insult to the special Olympics.
