It could be "chilly" and deep snow, or it could be like today - sunny and 70F.

There are many riders here, just let us know when you hit the ground.

If I happen to pick up a lightweight dual-sport, I'd be game...I'm casually looking for either a dual-sport of some type or a project bike. Depends on what jumps out at me.

I'm in the Springs as well, stationed at Carson.

Apex is the main big shop in town, but you should start working on your own bike. Changing tires and basic maintenance is good to do on your own, or with some help at first.

I PSC'd here to COS in 06, and retired in 09 (22 years USAF). This is the place to settle down, if you're lucky enough to arrive at the right time in your career.

Ok there appears to be a few of us at Carson...we should have a little get together at some point. I'd gladly host.:freaky

It seems I can never get off work in time to do the Wednesday evening meets here. Otherwise y'all would have seen my ugly mug by now!

By the way, a few days ago I saw a KLR parked at Div HQ next to mine, but it was gone by the time I left work. Anyone around here?

Well I didn't go the dual-sport route. Picked up a '78 Yamaha XS650, made to look like a Triumph Scrambler. So I'm good with pavement or graded dirt roads on either the Stelvio or the XS.

But I'm definitely game to meet up. And if you happen to see a white Stelvio or a Yamaha that looks like a Scrambler around town or on Carson, it's me.

If anyone's not afraid of the cold, I'll be camping and riding up in the Fourmile area this weekend. I'll be riding stuff suitable for KLRs and big bikes. PM me for details.

From earlier this fall (different bike):

Oh man, I've been drooling over that bike ever since it was posted on the Craigslist finds. Put me at the top of the list if you're ever looking to sell it.

Might be up for some short local riding this weekend.

With any luck I'll be out and about on the XS today, assuming I have properly appeased the gods of the fuel petcocks and haven't set fire to anything in the process:lol3. Just running around town a bit...to Apex to pick up some chain lube and whatever else I can't live without. I also want to look at their Triumphs to see if I can solidify some ideas cooking in my head. May head over to Pike's Peak motorsports on Powers (depending on what Apex has sitting in their showroom) to look at their Triumphs today as well...I need to get eyes on a Scrambler.

If the petcock gods are not pleased, I'll be on the Guzzi. Say hi if you're out running around and see me.

I swear I've seen your bike on post. Your pad on the crossbar sticks in my mind. I live out gate 20 as well, close to Safeway.

Yep...just remembered that I saw it within the past couple days, parked in front of the building with clothing sales and the class VI store. I head to the Korean place nearly every day for lunch.
