So after fruitlessly searching for good maps of unpaved roads in my area I decided to work on my own. Using google earth as my tool I have been scouring several counties, highlighting dirt and gravel roads as I've found them. I've tried to avoid anything that requires a turn around, and If I suspect something is gated I make a note. That being said, I haven't ridden the vast majority of this, so if you use them bear that in mind.

As I can't upload my kml files directly I'm providing a link to my dropbox.

I hope this will help some people in my area find good areas to ride, if you find anything I have marked is incorrect please let me know!

    enjoy,

Thanks, that's an excellent resource there! A very good source of high detailed county maps can be had by searching for a "mapbook" for specific counties. They don't usually specify whether paved or unpaved, but provide a very accurate listing of all the roads in the county. I spent some time doing inspection work for scdot and those were what we always used for obscure roads.

Sounds like you may have missed the MEOW. In case you're interested, it's in the "SC Dirt" link in my Sig line.

I have actually run your ridge spring loop quite a few times, I came across it on dualsportmaps a while back. Thank you for all the info, you have some really awesome tracks!

    thanks,

Great! It's good to get feedback. Makes the effort put forth in sharing tracks seem worthwhile.

I especially appreciate the 500 point max thing. I've got one of those touchy GPS units lol.

I'm continually updating this Kml file as I check roads I have marked and add more counties on. My hopes are that it will make putting tracks together a much easier task.
