Things you can do on an LT when the GS is down for its annual service. A little ride around central Nevada.

    The route. 862 miles door-to-door.

After leaving toxic Las Vagas, I passed by the still radioactive test site.

    Stopped for a bit,

    to enjoy the clean air.

But not many others around to enjoy it with me,

    so parking wasn't a problem.

    Except for this guy.

And for the two people at the local bar.

    So, moving on....

to one of the other Manhattans in the U.S.

To get a quart of Mobil 1 at the local auto parts store.

It got dark after the oil top-off. So one night and 81 plus miles later, a vista of the world famous Lincoln Motel in Austin.

Being from Viking stock, I took a little time to storm the castle.

Then moved down the road to mining country.

Specifically I moved down this road.

To check on the mining claim
    .

    And get some gas.

    Which brings us to SR379.

The real reason for the ride.

And to celebrate my traverse of the Duckwater "Tsaidüka" Reservation; on a dirt road, riding an LT and in the rain, a stop at the Currant bar.

And f... me, the bar was closed. However rooms were available.

Very nice photo report. Was it the rain, or camera that allowed you to get the vivid colors?
If the latter, what camera were you using?

Wow... nice! I've seen Currant before, but nothing close to the real feeling of it captured in your photos. Thanks for sharing.

I am now riddled with a case of photo composition envy. :nod
    And I want your camera.
    And your steady hand.

It had been raining so the air was clear. But I've also been playing with the DFX set of filter tools from Tiffen. Kinda cool the way they stack, mask and blend.

Posted elsewhere from the same ride...the sum total of four filters and a mask
