Cal Highway Patrol has some but they already dropped them due to auxiliary power issues. It was cool seeing them on the freeway though.

As some departments move forward, ours moves backwards...from superb BMMW RTs to HD FLHs. Why, why, why? The Connie looks good, performs exceptionally well, and certainly has superior service and longevity. The Beemer has an excellent track record as well.

I liked seeing the RTs on patrol, I even slowed down ;-)

The HDs just hurt my sense of good-use-of-tax-money (the color scheme looks awful too!). I want Connies in the Queen City. It won't happen anytime soon.

On the plus side, we got a dozen DRZ400 that are on patrol. Kind of neat.

In NM some depts complained of high service costs on the BMW's and the local cops get their HD's free for the PR

Not me. I've done all of Russell's rides in the past. If you go you'll have a good time.

Just be sure if you get the GPS files ahead of time to redo them yourself before you go.

If I remember correctly it was one of Russells rides where the flying pig moniker came from. You were giggling like a school girl.

I'm going to be picking up a 2009 C14 with around 12k on the clock in early June. Is there anything I should be concerned about? My Grandpa bought the bike new and has maintained it well. It's under warranty until December. Hey may have lowered the bike, I need to ask him about it.

If it's still under warranty I would not worry too much....

Things to check.... rear shock preload.. make sure its not seized..

Tyre pressure monitors.... if you get a low battery warning that will be mega bucks to replace the sensors.... but with the warranty .......

Check the service book is stamped and up to date...otherwise its a get out clause for the warranty :deal

Look at the brake pads. I had to replace mine at around 13k. Make sure that it has a good battery / charge.
