I think he's actually on the Island Highway somewhere around Nanaimo. The Pat Bay doesn't have the wide grass boulevard between north and south lanes.

These type of vids are all over the interweb. Don't see what the big deal is. Young guy, fast bike, no fear. We have all been there and done that once in our lives. Hell, I was doing it myself last weekend to a lesser degree :1drink

You are right...changed it after I watched it again. Sure I have been there.....years ago but the way them morons drive on SVI, no way I'd even think of riding between the lanes, but my bike only goes 250.:D I just don't like incitation, had some bad consequences them videos in our neighborhood and pissing off the usually tolerant locals big time.:eek1

That one seems to have a link to BCsportbiker.com, anyone here signed on there just to see if he is getting high fives???:lol3

    just a little slower:D
My dad always told me, "...if you're gonna drive fast, because you are; do it on a dry summer Sunday morning just after sunrise. You'll have less chance of killing yourself and somebody else. Plus, no need to weave."
This was back in the day before 40 over had your car impounded. Who knew a 75 Toyota corolla could do 178km/h?:lol3

Actually that is the island highway heading west from Helmcken road out past Thetis lake towards Langford. And for those that don't know; right where he was indicating 300km is a very popular spot where Langford RCMP like to collect revenue.

Doing 300km/h is on any surface is dangerous and on public roads it's downright stupid...but lane splitting at that speed!!! :huh

Luck is wasted on stupid people sometimes!!!

If he's that much of a dumbass to ride at that speed and do lane splitting well maybe Darwins theory will kick in and kill just the stupid one. I just hope that none of the other drivers around him get freaked out and cause a chain collision.

Yeah, i've picked my moments, and places. Even in my extreme youth with fire in my eyes and loins, I never picked a local metro highway full of cars & trucks. It's usually 300-400 miles southeast in the high desert of central Oregon where this kind of top speed runs can be done with minimal audience. I feel the kid that made this video is an attention whore in the same way a ceruiser rider loves to blip the throttle downtown in front of a window pane and a crowd of people in a cafe.

In BC, this new 40km/hr impoundment law has been kind of like our own "9/11" attack on those who need to run the machines where they like. A modern sportbike today makes these speeds so easy and casual, in fact, a modern sportbike is actually not much fun below 140km/hr, kind of boring actually, no viseral feedback. Heck, I was out on my 22yr old 750 Honda on the weekend and without even thinking I was in the 'danger zone' , so casual. This one legislative decision alone has confirmed with me that during next spring's provincial election, I will NOT be voting for the current political party in power now. How dare they consider me the same level of criminal as a murderer or drug dealer simply by exceeding their vastly underposted speed limits. Fucking joke, revenue generation of the most underhanded nature!!!!
This move has been a very good one for motorcycle friendly hotels in Washington, Oregon, and California states, who now find themselves much busier with BC riders enjoying their MUCH better roads.

reminds me of the 'Ghost Rider' over in Europe somewhere. He was popular on youtube before he went splat.

Maybe I'm showing my age, and I've done a lot of stupid stuff in my days, but riding is dangerous enough without taking these chances.

And I like keeping my money (fines) and bike (inpoundment) and staying out of jail (butt pounding prison) which he will undoubtably be in when the RCMP catch up with him.
