O yeah, real brakes. I'm looking at the same option to pull my toy hauler. What I got in mind is a 7 spd dt466 in a crew cab International 4700 on a lo pro 22.5 rubber, no sleeper.

    JMHO, but.... Screw International!

I drive LOTS of them. 60-80,000 miles a year (just finished a L.A.-to-St Louis run in a 4300 today), all over the country. And I know most of the Service Techs in the Lower 48 by name! :roflOne big Electrical Problem With Wheels!

BTW, the first thing to go is the vent selector (floor/dash/defog) switch. Then the fuel guage.
And after so many years, the heat exchangers rot out, putting oil into the cooling system or visea-versa.

The "check engine" lights tend to go on and off so much that eventually you ignore them. THEN they throw a false code (usually ReGen related) that puts the truck into Limp Home Mode. In BF Mississippi. On I-55. At 70 mph. In the fast lane. :puke1

If you do buy one anyway, do NOT get one with an automatic. The Allison 5 & 6-speed transmissions suck the life out of them unless you're runnin' really light.

And I once had a column-shift auto in a Crew-Cab get stuck in Drive, at the diesel island at a station on the last leg home to the shop. I set the brake, jumped out and while I was pumping the fuel.... it "timed out" (idle timer) and shut off. Of course it won't re-start in Drive. :baldy Had to be towed to the dealer. With 1700 miles on it.

    O.K. I'm done.:lol3

I think my employer might be getting sick of IH, because not only is the next new (smaller) Pipeline Inspection Truck a Ford (and they USED to use F-550's before they got on the International kick), but the next Boiler Truck is ALSO not an International!

Coming to a seat under my ass soon...

    Electronic or manually pumped 466?

BADASS! Is that factory? I was thinking it would be cool to have a 78-79 ford 250-350 crew cab, but this truck tops that!
