So...anyone have any tips on cracking open the cases on a 75 kawasaki f11 250 2t? I somehow got crap in the shift drum and its stuck in 3rd gear....or is there a way to get the drum out without cracking the cases?

    Thanks!!!!

I think you can access the shifter drum by taking off the clutch cover. The drum and gearshift ratchet are underneath or to the rear of the clutch . Sometimes the ratchet and springs get worn and it won't shift.

I already looked there, part of the kickstart return spring holder cracked and went into the trans...there was a sizeable chunk (1/4" ) in the bottom by the clutch, and that only accounts for half the missing piece... Can i pull the shift drum out without cracking open the cases? I dont think i can due to the shift forks...
