I've seen that ad, what city were you searching?
Hey not only the rare 4 cyl, but it is an 07 Kaw as well as a 02 BMW.
This thing must be worth some real big bucks.
I don't know what to make of this:
Now that is a misplaced decimal point.
I figured it had to be the deal or dud of the decade.
there is no accounting for taste....

"Pimp My Bike".
That actually makes my eyes hurt.
Restored to original, it would be worth that. Pimped out, highly doubtful. They probably spent more making it ugly, that returning it to OE.
That is seriously hideous, and such a shame on a collectible and valuable bike.
The heck of it is somebody thinks that thing looks good.
I never understood why painting everything in contrasting garish colors can be considered a "build".
That's why I hate it when the powdercoat guy has a 'minimum piece/minimum price' requirement. Causes all kinds of bad impulsive decisions
I agree with your post in every way but there is no way I can bring myself to like a post that has pictures of that bike in it!!!!!!
wow, that conflagration of color took a lot of effort to accomplish, if the "builder" had put in as much effort to make it a classy updated restoration it "might" be worth to close that price, if damn near perfect.
I think the word you’re looking for there is “ridicule”, friend :)
A cross between "radical" and "ridicule".
I think that if 2/3 of the red were done away with it would have been a fairly nice custom paint job on a nicely refurbished bike. I suspect he kept on thinking, "Hmm, not enough" until it became, umm, garish is the nicest word I can think of.
To say nothing of the fact that once you actually start riding that bike, much of that paint/powder coating is either going to wear off or burn off and then it will look even crappier than it did before "restoration."
Expect to see the same bike, in much worse condition, showing up on this thread in a year or two after the paint starts flaking off.
I present this one for the consideration of the community:

I'm sitting here trying contort my wrists to see if I could use either the brake or the clutch with my hands in a position to hold onto those bars.
Even if I could get my hands in a position to hold onto those bars.
