Here is my 18 year old 88, the year I sold it, parked next to a new 96 Gixer.
Sorry, 05 Gixer.
Fun fast and the pegs were just too dang high and wide for my middle aged hips.
Indeed sitting at traffic lights you have to do the hop side to side dance, especially when the fan kicks in. It blows out super heated air out the side vents right onto your thighs.
They don't overheat for those that are interested in one, they just run at a solid temperature and the plastic bodywork holds the heat in.
The big upside is your inner thighs will be roasting no matter the weather, the rest of you will be freezing
Though, a thread called CB100F isn't going to get hit that much, since it's the 1000F
I liked my '87 a lot, except for the rattle of the hydraulic cam chain tensioner at idle. I never replaced it because my buddy who did his said it was back in a few thousand miles!?!
Wow thats a good looking bike :)
Im looking for a long term project. This may be on my short list, if I can find one under $2500
I had a ZX600R that blew hot air right onto your shins when moving, or when stopped if the fan was running.
The more I look at bikes, the more I want more bikes, including a Hurricane. The two issues are, I'm running out of room to store them, and I can't find decent bikes that I want locally.
