I went for a quick weekend camping/riding trip so I could ride around and explore more of Crested Butte. I actually camped in Taylor. There are plenty of great camping areas right near the river. No facilities, but the price is right. FREE On Saturday morning, I got up and rode over Trail Creek and Spring Creek to get down the highway and end up in Crested Butte. Easy graded roads. Pretty, but not very exciting. I really wanted to ride up to Paradise Divide and make the loop with Schofield Pass back to CB (NOT going over to Marble and trying the Devil's Punchbowl, at least not this trip). That road is pretty easy as well. Nothing technical. A little steep and the narrow edges are enough to keep you from being bored. The highlight is the view, especially in August. Wildflowers everywhere.
