Alberta Road Maintenance Crew. These guys freaked me out. Big horns have eyes like cats with vertical pupils. They'd crossed in front of us and the rams were keeping the ladies and kids in line. I was backing up while idling thinking I was gonna take those horns right in the leg.

Little detour out of New Denver, BC. Historically a silver and mining region until 1920's, the old town of Sandon has a working hydroelectric plant that was built in the late 1800's and still provides power to the Columbia River grid. It's the highest altitude generating station on the grid and the water that flows through this little plant goes all the way to the Pacific Ocean through a dozen other dams and plants. A working antique.

Guess I need to start taking more pics or get better at those that I do. I'll scavenge from my friends files for more. This guy had it going on as we waited for a ferry. Boss Hoss with a trailer AND a spoiler, no less. Three speed V8, lol. Im sure I'll be there someday .......

Question - the high fender you use: brand please? Is it a full one or super-motard?

Most of the high fenders I've seen look but ugly and destroys the lines of the machine, but I could get used to that.

Its the full KTM model that Corey @ Camel ADV recommends in his kit along with the Acerbis fork guards. Drew up the graphics and had a shop print the vinyl.

No, but really wanted to. We were three hours behind the two S-10's at the end of our walk through the generating station and it was already 3pm. Wanted to be in Rossland before dark and that was one of the unfortunate sacrifices we made on the trip. Very much want to go back to that area with bike or without. Maybe a SUP and a MTB.

I helped build some of the mountain bike trails there back in the day it is a very special place to explore. Idaho peak is a must next time time you go what a view! The ride between New denver and Kaslo is fantastic!

I did the Bowron Lakes circuit many years ago ('82) and when we were headed south past Valemount a couple weeks ago I really wanted to turn west towards Wells and go back there to see what's changed. Probably everything. I think we saw fewer than 10 other people in our 8 day rainfest that year.

I have Bowron Lake circuit on my hitlist, musta been awesome. Not much has changed in Wells or Barkerville since '82 (my parents took us out there all the time when I was a kid). The Bowron circuit is pretty busy from what I hear, but the whole area is in a protected park so it's effectively pristine. Outside the park, most of the old logging has grown up and any roads leftover are now prime trails for dual-sport action as long as you are prepared for many stream crossings where there used to be bridges and culverts.
