    CroMag Campout 2017--- Sept. 12-16, 2018

    Ten years of enjoying VT.

If you are "IN", this is a good place to indicate it.

As usual, I want to get final costs established closer to the event to keep the fee down. Pricing will be up sometime in June or July 2018. Should be close to last years pricing, but unexpected things happen.

The tenth Vermont edition of CroMag Campout will be at Silver Lake State Park:

I will open the gate again this year at 5 pm on Wednesday night. For the newcomers: there are hot water showers (you will need quarters, bring some or be stinky), you can pitch tents together on sites if you choose or spread out. I imagine there will be some wood sparked and we will have a kumbaya event every night. Complimentary coffee; KyleB comes with the big pot at the outhouse. There are going to be limited parking spots for vehicles with trailers down by the beach, again FCFS. As in the past, the deal I made was once they are parked they have to stay parked for the weekend and you will have to ride your bike. The purpose of this arrangement is so that the small displacement inmates can come from a distance comfortably and enjoy the weekend. If we finally get a rush on little bikes taking advantage of the dirty routes we will be able to find you parking if it fills up. Don't be nervous, Guymanbro has you covered and will be glad to take you along on his very nice wooded gnarly trips. I have been given a couple of GPX routes too, we can provide, e-mail me with questions. I should mention this is a big person event. There is no hand holding, maybe some nudging in the right direction, no rides like a Hog group with a SAA or anything like that. Numerous good places to eat in the area and roads, roads, roads. Most folks get a group together and head out. Don't be shy, most anyone will be glad to take you along. Some groups are different than others, you will need to feel that out. Ride within your limits is about it.

You cannot bring self contained units (RV's) to the event. Sorry if that irks you, that is the overwhelming sentiment of the group and the park. There are camping areas not too far away. There are some B&B's in the area and the Woodstock Inn is quite close and very nice. More reasonable bed rates can be found in White River Jct., VT. I will provide you a list of area restaurants, emergency info etc.

I plan to lock the gate at 9 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Saturday night at 6 pm. If the gate is locked, walk down the hill from the gate, that is straight in, and I will be down at the fire. I will gladly come up and let you in and get you properly papered. How will you find me you ask? Look for something bigger than your average bear, with less hair, at least on top of my head.

When sending in the Paypal, please be sure to reference your Adv screen name as well as the other information below too. Thanks so much, it saves me a lot of time!

    Leanto Bidding Donation

    Ash--------- $80
    Birch------- $80
    Elm--------- $80
    Hemlock--- $80
    Oak---------
    Pine-------- $80
    Spruce----- $80

Bid by PM to shrineclown for a leanto.

High bid will be posted in op, but not the bidder, silent auction for those who prefer anonymity.

Bids in $10 increments so it is not a nightmare to manage. $80 cap.

    Bidding will end on 8/15/18.

E-mail paypal confirmation to charity to cromagadvrally@gmail.com by 9/1/18. The charity of choice will be determined by SixWatt and SWMBO and information will be provided to the winning bidder.

In the event of non-payment: leanto will be offered, to all in the annual thread, at the high bid and the first to say "dibs" and donate gets it, no bidding at that point. If the number was crazy, it will be offered at the highest donated amount for a leanto. Just cause I know folks will ask "what if."

In the event there is no bid on a leanto, it will revert to the first come, first served status.

Again, the bids are anonymous. If you are sharing, make sure you are not bidding against your leanto mates.

I am going to cap the bids at $80 for leanto. So, the first bid of $80 will secure the leanto for the 4 nights. It worked as we anticipated last year, but I don't want this to become more than intended with crazy bidding. I think $20 a night is more than enough for the usage and allows us to give a nice donation to Sixwatt's charity of choice. So, if you see $80 beside one of the leanto's above, it is out of play unless it gets released or goes unpaid. Once all are spoken for, I keep a waitlist; top of the waitlist has first refusal and then on down the list until are leanto's are committed.

Some things I need to have from you if you are a first timer or I don't have the information showing:

    1. Meat eater or Herbivore?
    2. Postal Address for the list I give the park. E-mail it to me please at cromagadvrally@gmail.com.
    3. Arrival day
    4. Whether you are riding in or need a parking spot for your trailer and small displacement bike.

Need to get Yankee Beemers to change their rally date that conflicts with Cromag. Might pick up some attendees.

No longer speaking officially for the club - I don't think that will happen. There is a core group that enjoys putting on their own campouts, they will continue to do so. It almost seems to be an oil & water thing, which is too bad. I dragged 2 guys to Cromag this year who would have otherwise been at Wacky Hat, they are both already talking about coming back to Cromag next year.

Hey Kurt, issat you? I was hoping the YB guys would pick the weekend after Cromag for their September rally. I greatly enjoy the YB events, but Cromag is special - particularly with Clark in charge and the outstanding location, coffee, buffet, fire, attendees, etc., etc.
