Does anyone know any way to ride trails/fire roads/gravel roads from west to east across WV? I'm wanting to cross the state using as little tarmac as possible.

    Jeff,
I don't use a GPS, but the Delorme West Virginia Atlas and Gazetteer is my guide. It is 1:150,000 in scale and has almost everything that is on the ground. The only problem is that the smallest lines don't really tell you if it is paved or not. You'll only know when you ride it.

My forte' is from Elkins and east. The Monongahela and the George Washington National Forest. I can't help you much to the west. Where are you planning on starting and finishing? Reddish Knob on the Va/WVa border is a stunning endpoint. It is dirt up from the WVa side, but paved down the Va side.
