Thanks Peter for the offer. Is just now a rinse and repeat wake up wracked in pain. Ask for pill to be told it's too early. Then take pill and find less painful position and off to sleep again.
Haven't even seen the bike. Not sure Inwant to. Put so much time
    Into it lately.

Jay, I think the Loncin article was merely to point out that a Zong competitor is actually going to build a 650cc single. That might hasten the 450cc RX4 or the rumored 400cc twin coming to market. FWIW, I had a G650GS. It was one heavy hunk of metal and not particularly inspiring. I tried to like the big thumper but was happy to see her go to a new owner.

Correct. It's of a similar vein.
    1. Thrifty use of existing tech.
    2. Chinese.
    3. Adventure styled bike where the first thing someone does is bash it just because it isn't $25,000 and sh*ts rainbows of world-conquering perfection
    4. And if follows recent discussion of the RX4. Except the RX4 is 450lbs per the info I saw...
Also figured I would let someone else dedicate a thread if they wanted. No telling if the Loncin will ever make it to US soil.

The BMW official weight is 430 lbs. I think that is total BS. My bike was much heavier and when it fell on my ankle after a water crossing it weighed at least a ton. My buddy's DR must have been at least 100 lbs lighter. Seriously, unless Lonchin has come up with a super light frame this is still one heavy thumper. The RX4 is supposed to only be a few (maybe 20) lbs heavier than the RX3. If that's true it sounds very attractive to me.

Hey. Saturday at a camp out at a friends place from Ohioriders gettogethr. Dropped Dr on its side in grass,
Fully loaded. Was able to pick up fairly easily. Bars in back to bike one on bar on on rear grab handle.
The long tall soft suspension squatted easily and the. Ike came up

Yes, they are implying that they might make both a 650 single around the engine they produced for BMW and also a 500 twin around the engine they made for Honda.
However I have not seen any street legal Loncin 2 wheeler approved for sale in USA, all I have found so far is notices of EPA violations.
So, IF some agency steps forward to get the EPA (and CAFE) certification done, as Steve & CSC did and started to import the machines then a few might get sold.
Of course a good (as in CSC good) support system will need to be established.

But there remains the issue of "What do riders want?"
On our thread the interest is between 300-450cc with no weight gain above the RX3 at a price point comparable to the RX3.

Elsewhere on ADVRider there might be a modicum of interest. Because Ural. And Enfield.
At Chinarider.net we will have lots of happy dancers. But again, the support system will make or brake the deal.
So far only Hyosung (Korea) seems to have the fortitude to step up. And they don't have an adventure type bike.

Holy crap Dan, sorry to hear of your wreck. Get well soon. Let me know what, if anything I can do.

I foresee a bike build in the new shop this winter. Always welcome here

I can pick up my DR with no trouble.
    The first time.
The second time within an hour or so is no problem, but not as easy as the first time.
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th time usually happen within a 2 hour time span because of the trail conditions and that's when it gets really heavy.

If I don't end up in terrible conditions I rarely drop the bike.
It is when the road has turned to mud and the rain won't stop and I am cold, wet and tired...
Then I feel like the Wrong Way Round boys with their GS's in the mud bogs of Siberia.

It is amazing how fast the same bike can gain weight! :pep

JagLite, you said it brother, it sure does get heavy, and the damn thing lays flat as a pancake without boxes or saddlebags/whatnot. Makes it seem like its buried in the ground!

Singlespeed92... actually watched one of your YouTube vids last evening, I enjoyed it. I figure you're out West, otherwise you'd be welcome to give mine a spin.
