Yeah, you both have those sort of uncertain smiles like you're still not sure if this is not as bad as it seems or its way worse than it seems...

Anyone interested in a ride this weekend?
Assuming the weather forecast holds up...

I don't think I will be able to do much riding the next weekend...
    (CnR Weekend...)

    I could lead a ride starting out at Rt7 and Rt295 ..
that would wander north into Mass... go near Douglas..
and then end up near Wallum Lake (or heads back to the direction you need for a return..)

    or head down to Arcadia...

or whatever someone else wants to do...

I think there's video somewhere of Redbeard demonstration that very technique on some Pachaug water crossings.

So had a follow up with the ortho doc on Monday.. he said everything was coming along as expected.. two more weeks and I can start to put progressive weight on the leg.. so that is good, because that is when I will be headed across country.. I may even be weighting the leg on crutches during the camp n ride. Interesting fact is that I seem to have zero ACL/MCL damage, and the Doc said it is the first time he has seen that sort of break without some soft tissue damage as well. So score one for "real" knee braces, not simply knee pads.

I had put on my EVS knee braces that day because I figured Al and I would be riding the whole loop, normally I only wear my SixSixOne knee pads. These were the lower end braces, but they do have aluminum side stays on them to prevent hyper flexion and twisting. I just bought a full fledged set of knee braces in the Flea Market and will try them out when I start riding again. They are not the most comfortable things in the world.. but I can tell you that discomfort is a small price to pay, and I will take it over another 4-6 week on crutches if I had needed ACL/MCL surgery.

Me too. He suspects torn cartilage and an arthroscopic meniscus repair is likely. We shall see. Until then, I'll try not to blow it out completely. :D

OH MY GOD, I don't believe it. Time to update your sig...maybe the Lammy needs to go?

Jim, we're doing a going-away Pachaug Camp & Ride next weekend (7/19-21). Try to get down for a ride on Saturday if you can (you don't have to camp). Otherwise, there are plenty of folks here who can meet during the week. Hell, we can do my easy dirt road loop together...I get out early on Fridays in the summer :evil
