Not a Ranger. I bet it's a Franklin.
Actually it's an Indian four with two cylinders added. It has a Harley front end and the frame has been stretched It's one of two built by a couple of gentlemen in town. One fellow used a welded crank shaft the other turned his out of a solid piece.

a few TV shots from a WC Fields movie with a chase scene with cops on bikes. the first one is cool because the bike ended up on the hood of one of the cars and thanks to my camera freezing the scene you can see that it was just a stripped down bike. but the chase was real with pretty neat stunt riding. 1930's?
