Hi folks, thought there might be some other CX/GL rebuilds out there to share. Here's mine, soon to be stripped down and turned into something else (ratted street-track bobber with cafe seat, anyone?)

Hi JTN, Good luck with the rebuild,

I have two CX650 Customs, and a CX 650 Euro,

Just started to rebuild the 2nd custom, parts are very difficult to find in the UK ,as you know they were only made in 1983 for one year, and only available in The USA,

So you lucky lot have all the spares :D cheers Graham

Here is my '82 CX500 C. I went through the engine, water pump seals, cam chain and tensioner, new gaskets and seals. Removed the stock fan and put on an electric fan from a Ducati with a thermostatic switch mounted on the radiator top tank. I have also changed the front and rear fenders, added a seat from a Sportster and mufflers from a Dyna something or other. Just got it restarted this weekend and it seems to run well, no leaks!

Thanks. I've had that question before, there's no build thread of this bike anywhere on the net. So I'll be doing a write up off the build on my blog in about a week or so I think.
