    Hey guys,

While browsing through all the crap on my PC, I stumbled across some cool pics I took earlier this year during the Yamaha Ténéré Meeting in Mothern, France.

The event was actually the 25th aniversary celebration of the Ténéré series from Yamaha (MEANING ONLY FOR YAMAHA OWNERS ), when all of a sudden this guy with the KTM cap showed up with his car, trailer and....

I was like, WTF?!? Is that Cyril Despres bike?!? Upon closer inspection, I was able to verify what I could tell from a far.... (my little bro. on the left :D)

As you can see, this bike was slowly grabbing the attention of many a rider!

Sweet pictures! I really love that combination, so much better than orange! We tried to get the same color but KTM wouldn't do it, even talking to top brass there. IIRC it had to do with copyright on the color or something. I also noticed some things that are different from the version sold to normal customers: -Adjusters on top of the forks are missing? -Left remote for ICO and roadbook is one piece

Great stuff. It`s not often we get to see up close detail on those bikes. Good out of the way position for the water tanks.

Has the KTM hard parts PHDS bar mount system. Nice. That system works well, just pricey. Best to buy it used.

I got to check out Stan Watts' 690RR recently... :tb

They are beautifully laid out, arent they

The tiny details are what strike you - like the rubber guard on the handlebar where the throttle-cables rub (missing from Cyril's bike, above).

So much space - and everything important is easy to access. Fuel pump, regulator, lights, sentinel, etc, etc

... and where was Cyril? (and did he know where his bike was?)

Nice pics, just hope that someone doesn't read the water tank filler cap & take it literally :eek1 , looks like a 950/990 oil filler cap.

At the event there was an exhibition of classic Ténéré bikes used in the Dakar during the early 80's and 90's (pics will come too...)
There was also the big 950 KTM from Meoni there too.

The bike was sold on eBay several months prior to the event, where the guy with the KTM had bought it for over 30.000€!!!

I'm guessing he was just invited to come and show his new bike amongst some other rally classics.

Normally they're sold with the big chunky remote for the RB and the standard 3 button remote for the ICO.
I have made my own copy of the factory remote, which I was thinking of also selling in a small production.
    Here my prototype:

So if there's anybody interested, you know.... :D
