I don't see a problem for CdP. My first dirtbike was a CR125 that was missing 5th gear, I just wound 4th out and double shifted into 6th. :lol3:lol3

:clap:clap to Kurt for his first stage win!!! One of many to come hopefully. :clap

Only five gears on the 450RR so 4th will be pretty low!

So he averaged 72mph for 200km including a stop!? Not sure that should be humanly possible.

I believe one can notify the officials to break a seal to do certain maintenance, as some bikes just don't have the access to accomplish certain tasks with the engine in the frame. Now, it probably a whole 'nuther thing to split the cases, since many would essentially overhaul an engine given the chance. I'm sure an official would have to witness the seal cutting ceremony, and maybe even the work being completed. There is a chance one could get deep enough into the clutch cover to gain access to various shifter components. Hope it's not going to be a terminal issue for CdP.

Anyone got a clue why De Rooy's starting position is so far down for today?

Maybe he could just add a tooth to the front sprocket and then 4th would be OK!:ear
Wouldn't take much for someone to pass him one, Moustache or not!

    Let me try without google:

Today, not a complicated stage. Just follow the track and twist the wrist. Without off piste, its simple and I could attack. With Ruben, we stopped to help Cyril who had a mechanical issue, but he told us to hurry up and gtfo. I hope that we can repair the damage tonight in the marathon biv. for me, everything went well, I am getting better with the navigation. winning the special is super for me, but I dont forget its my first DAkar, and I am here to learn. But in any case, I am having lots of fun, on the moto to the biv and I'm going to continue like that. (Will keep bringing it home)

Not stop for Cyril and yet sponsored by KTM = career suicide. A company pays north of a quarter of a million to get you in the KTM team , bike support and instruct to ride support and you neglect to do this. Not in your wildest dreams. He waved them through for sure. Not as a generous gesture i guess but because he probably knew he couldnt fix it without losing hours.

Just gotta love the Cyril hatred. Pushed to win he was not a gentlemen, Coma pushed to win , cheated and got caught, yet you hear far less of that.

Anyone knows what changes / upgrades the Yamaha team did on their YZs? These are the MX versions right, so no battery, just a kick start. Fitting the bigger tank and cusomising the suspension is not what I am interested in. I am just asking because to me these is a very reasonable choice of turning a very good bike into a Rally beast :clap.
    thanks.

Nasser is on quite a tear of his own....with Robbie right on his heels for the stage....but Peterhansel better stay on his toes for the overall vs. Nasser!!
