How often or when was the last time a rookie won a stage? This is KC's first rally ever.

I'm curious how long the buggy will last in this violence. Sainz's already bit the dust... seems to be Nasser's is due to follow.

Good question; KTM just tweeted the last one to pull this off was team mate Ruben Faria in 2006. doyle and Packmule might know better.

The battle between the race leaders is close because the front three are within thirty seconds of each other. Naser Al-Attiyah leads Robby Gordon's Hummer by a small 16 seconds and the Mini of Stéphane Peterhansel by 35”. Quicker than the bikes on this section, the top speeds are reaching 180 kmph.

it can happen on any offroad or rally type race.. either on transit or the special stage.. people dont watch for bikes.. on stage the 00 car opens the stage but they cant lock it up people can wander on to stages very easily..

sad but true ... racing can take your life in an instant

How does France 2 compare to France 4?

I can only watch so much vid each day and France 4 has been awesome so far. Eurosport also has a few things not seen on France 4, but as the announcer said on France 4 "Less blah blah, more images!" That's the first one I catch up with each day.

Well this has been an interesting day. Catching up here while waiting to get loaded. So being it's a separate bike-quad bivvy we might not get much news out of there tonite?? I was skimming threw the rule book again and can not find anything that for sure states how it is there tonite...If no time limit I see CdP swapping engines with a team member, Which one?? anyones guess...

What I like about the Caselli story is that he has been ride'n for KTM for something like 10 years.
...And KTM threw him a bone for it (well, and he is FAST).
You dont see that from riders or manufactures much, not in the USA.

Could this mean even more support from KTM for the Caselli / Quinn run at the Baja 1000????

I know Quinn wants another crack at the Dakar. How would it be if the next top contenders for Dakar were American Desert riders.

The biggest benefit would be that the media would show humble but well deserving racers representing Amer. instead of a whinny spoiled brat (I put that as nice as I could).

    :cry RIP Thomas :cry
