With Faría being only 5 minutes ahead of Despres, there's a very good chance that CDP would overtake him anyway. And with all the pressure KTM is feeling in this Dakar (lots of riders stacked close to the top), it's probably the correct corporate move.
Herrera (Laia's team mate) has just shown up through WP9 and she looked to be near to him (being towed by him?) at WP8. Maybe she can still get back?
I couldn't catch what Casteu said. Is he retiring?

Last tracking Luis shows up at wp3 out of 9. So, IF rumors are true and he's back in, he still has a LONG night ahead of him. Add that to the possibity of his bike not running well. He will have to show yet again, he's an iron man.
