Skipped wp's and rode a straightline ?
need to correct myself: with the starting time Manuel seem still be further ahead of Luis.... at least at the last wp
Don't think so; for all other riders the time at WP4 and CP2 are equal where there is a time at WP4 (some iritrack times not shown, as usual) and both times are listed for Manuel.
It's the same on the official site. I see it so now and then. Sometimes it gets corrected later. Watch a few rows up, there someone is with even a bigger gap.
ASO did their best to make a mess of tomorrow's WP's, but here is my try
The day starts with 90km connection, followed by refuel and start @ 90:30 local

(And all jokes aside from that part of the continent please) I do actually like to see that the Dakar is truly becoming an international race. Namchin, the last of the Mongolians out today. I always wonder how crazy with competitors things like Dakar, ISDE and even MXDN can get with the variety. Someday a alien might just come out of nowhere..

OK, Mischa, I now see that Querales times don't match, either. Dunno how I missed seeing that one, too, but will blame it on tired eyes. Still have no idea what it means but it'll likely straighten itself out when there's a time for WP5. (hope, hope, hope)

Ruben Faria: "Once again I was very close to winning a stage in the Dakar 2013 ... but as there are still two more ... we'll see (laughs). Soon I found a good race pace but again without risking. I saw that he was gaining time and set as goal to keep the same pace until the end. It was not a difficult step and have always maintained a good level of concentration when it was necessary to navigate because WP did not want to miss any. I'm happy for the KTM / Red Bull held the same positions and the overall odds for a good outcome are higher but we can never forget that this is the Dakar and everything can change ... we must continue to believe. At the end of the day, Cyril Despres has kept the initiative in the general standings with a lead of 5'39" over his team-mate Ruben Faria. Francisco Lopez has come back to within 13'40" of KTM rider No. 1 and Ivan Jakes, in fourth, trails the leader by 20'16". The leading Husqvarna rider, Alesandro Botturi - twentieth to finish today - lies 34'52" behind the Frenchman, whilst Juan Pedrero Garcia has a deficit of 41'14" on Despres. Olivier Pain, the first rider after the gap increases to over an hour, occupies seventh place, ahead of today's special stage winner, Dutchman Frans Verhoeven, 1:05'22" behind the leader.

It seems like HRC are having a bit of a Boeing this week what with the 787 Dreamliner being grounded.
Boeing won't throw the towel in and neither will HRC.

And this is what intrests me the most about DAKAR, never mind the physical and mechanical issues one has to deal with. CDP shows that he is the ultimate stategist, he has been calculating his moves since day 2, he know short of a mechanical failure he has overall wrapped up. He now starts strategizing forhis team mates to optimize their finishing positions.
CDP has shown that he deserves the position within the team and shows that he truly is part of the team.

Edit, 5min later: Hmmm, again. WP5 time has now changed to +03:29:11 while CP3 time remains +03:26:55.
