I think he only has a little over 6 1/2 on Faria. Wouldn't a15 minute engine penalty put him into 3rd?

For sure 1st place for tomorrow is all but gone.

If he gets the penalty he will be in 3rd. position

    Cyril
    Faria +14'41"
    Lopez + 23'15'' ( now 8'15'')
    Jakes + 24'45''

    You know what'd be fun?

    The front three mechanical/get lost,

and it's Jakes for the win.

I dunno about you, but I think that'd be pretty cool.

you're right... i didn't even get the right team. :huh

i plead tiredness - i've manually tagged (by rider / number / what's in the photo) almost 2000 photos from dakar.com at this point... i'm bound to get a few wrong here and there. - fixed in the appropriate places.

    20 pages late...........

But yes, it was 2011 that "our Si" did the Dakar unsupported. He was definitely there ( supported ) in 2009, maybe 2010 that he didn't show up ?

So there's no penalty for dropping out of the Marathon class now ? It was 15 minutes in 2009, but there was no engine change time penalty then. ( for one swap anyway )

Since the top five are already Ernge...I'd say that it would take quite a catastrophe for a different color join the podium this year.

Speaking of KTM gearboxes....Cyril and Chaleco both suffer failures this year but, was it not a gearbox problem that got Coma last year too?

(seems like that's what I'm remembering)

El mecanico de chaleco dice si no cambia el motor chaleco no termina y la decision es de el mecanico con jordi arcarons

The Chaleco mechanic says if the engine isn't changed Chaleco doesn't ends it's the mechanic and Jordi Arcarons decision

    Noticias dakar 2013 ‏@2013Dakar
Si no cambian el motor mañana chaleco no llega a la mitad de la etapa la coolaboracion de ktm no afecta en la decision final

If they don't change the engine tomorrow Chaleco does't get to half of the stage the colaboracion with KTM does not affect the final decision

I was thinking exactly the same today, but it's so unlikely scenario it would snow on Sahara first. Nice dream though :drif
Still, if Chaleco really changes engine Jakes will be just 90 seconds off the podium.
