12:50 The start of the motorcycles and quads has been postponed. The low-lying fog, the helicopters can not take off, which is also the emergency assistance of the medical teams can not standby. This safety measure, we must have patience.
Trust the Bolivians to make bad taste memorabilia in time for the two days the bikes will cross their country..
... sorrry... had a funny dream ...
Oh, Good Morning.
Good afternoon all!
Just caugth up after the rest day (went for a ride!).
While we wait.
Hmmm, That cloud that caused the delay is not just mist. This could mean the whole stage gets cancelled and they ride it as a liaison...
Bet you the riders would be happy with that.
I'd assume this engine change is that 15 minutes we already see in penalties.
Much more interesting question is how does ASO look at the transportation of Tom's bike over the liaison at the 6th stage. Tom said in the interview that he found some local who helped to transport the bike to the bivouac. In my book this is not in accordance with rules but it seems that ASO is willing to bend rules somewhat after all these numerous 'gates' we saw on previous stages.
Course modification for the bikes: SS7 will now start at WP3, just before the Bolivian border.
The modified course only affects the motorcycles and quads, since the cars and trucks are not going to Uyuni, Bolivia. The special will start from CP3 (km 103), just before the border, near the city of La Quiaca. This means the first part of the special will be 130 kilometres long instead of the original 232.
Found the ASO background images of today, they are from the salar
Our remaining bike of 5 left this morning with Mateo aboard his fresh motored 450 rr for the marathon stage into bolivia ... we will leave at 3 am to head to calama chile.. Man what a race this is !!!:eek1
130 special? What is this, a DAKAR for ants?
Gosh it is quiet in here........you could hear a pin drop.
Seems we have lost a lot of competitors to attrition... :shifty
15min penalty for Orly Terranova for ramming Colombian biker Juan Sebastian Toro.
Is that all?? The should have given the shite an hour at least
Those from the island in the middle of the Salar, all the tourist go there.
Yes that’s the good question?
Or did he get new coil in after WP 4 from he’s support team whom were there or was it he in tow….just speculation…. He didn't get time to WP 5 either ????
It seems the minis are attracked to bikers.. And they are prone to significant penalties..
still the 2nd part after Neut left ...
The car and truck crews will set off from near Las Cuevas at 10 am local time for a 533 km special. The safety helicopters are currently moving into position.
