11k's kilometer 265 to 276
Come on Neal, get Sam on your list, he's still only a young lad and needs all the promoting he can get
He has "family" on here so that should be good enough
Can I ask a really dumb question. Several actually.
What do the riders eat? Do they all meet up in the desert and sit down to a feast and then say "Tally Ho chaps lets race again"?
Or do they eat on the run? How ? Power bars for breakfast and lunch?
Do they also use a catheter to piss?
How many water refills do they go through? Where do they get the water from?
(I know in ironman Tri I used to just piss in my riding gear/shoes but at least there are aid stations with water to wash the yellow off)
I dont have dakar experience but mine is thusly:
Breakfast and dinner in the bivouac feed trough. SHow a wristband, get a fork. I've been known to figure out a place to stuff 5000 calories a day went back for thirds practiaclly every time.
Carry 3L on you, and 3L on the bike for emergency. Pee breaks during Liaison, or on stage, if you just gotta. Unless youre in it for the money, then dont stop during a special- you work it out from there
Maybe take a energy dense lunchymunchy in a pocket. gels, cliff bars, twizzlers.
Tally ho chaps
3l for 8 hours on the bike???
They'd need a liter an hour wouldn't they ?
Hydrate like a moose the other 16. Its sometimes possible to meet up with service crews that will resupply water bladders. I dont know how it works in this event.
Don't forget everything is available at the gas stations etc also
Few and far between, and dodgy at best?

Who is in the lead
If its yellow you ain't hydrated enough.
Camel back min 2 to 3 refills if not more . Refill when you refuel bike, at start of special etc. top up whenever you get a chance.
The hard thing is to regulate when you need a crap. And rally crap is different, it's compacted by the riding and devout of any nutrients after 7 days it can be rock hard.:huh and we are talking about pooh
Whats in second.
Before anyone else does it - why is in third
The pre-liaison hours are tough
Finally caught up. Hopefully I'll be able to finish a little earlier tomorrow night.
He is in the lead!
At this juncture it would be about time the first bikes are leaving left the Bivouac
Then what ? Does he who is in second go before he who is in first?
The Bivouac overnight

I was trying to deflect from that, a bit like talking to me or any other Englishman about cricket - just as you can't on this forum
Crick et, aaaah the noble game, fire and ashes, yeah not on this forum
