A friend who's blind uses something called "JAWS" that talks so fast I can't follow but the speed is adjustable. I think it's pretty pricey, though.

We are getting down to just one hour away from the DSS of SS1, as mentioned in the last couple of f5irehose pages there are several ways of f5ollowing the competitors progress during the SPECIALS with interval and stage times for the various CP's and multiple ways to track those riders (or clasification of riders) that you are interested in, using both the Dakar.com POSIS (CP times), the Dakar.com "live" GPS map or Mischas formidable tracker. :clap But there IS NO "Irritrack" graphic GPS tracker overlay that can be followed - as is used on many other rallies... THIS is Dakar tracking old school - no visual representation.

Now if any (or all) of the above is Greek to you... please familiarize yourself with this old chestnut thread and it will help explain the basics, some terminology etc. :deal

Geepers... I think flood and i had our first "f5 MIND MELD"... I put in a f5irehose post a couple up, to remind people of Doyles "Dakar 101" timing and scoring thread... and checked the "Cliff Notes", there Remi's already clipped it in place! :clap

F5iring on all cylinders team! :clap

Flood if you keep the "Cliffs" for the duration? And I can take a late shif5t?
We will work out a baby stitting roster in the backroom... it'll all start to jell over the next 12 hours or so... :rofl

I'll be working again come Tuesday so I won't be able to keep up the pace in the Cliff Notes. BlueBull will be a great help and I hope some of the other mods will join in too.

Certainly hope we won't have any of those assistance shenanigans again, which led to VPelt's DQ last year.

Well, after jumping the gun and going early with the other lemmings and copping a penalty, I'd like to lodge a protest:deal against Flood for using coersive, diversionary tactics to lead the anxious quick starters off piste so that others in his team may gain an advantage:lol3
I'm off to bed now. If I'm still here when the stage kicks off I'll be no good to anyone tomorrow. I'll catch up at breakfast. Go easy, I'm expecting 20 pages to catch up on in the morning.
Go Grabbo!

I have a feeling that these petrol fillings get very tedious when 100+ riders, each with two to seven separate tanks, come at nearly the same time, want to pay in three different currencies and wait for a change from 100$€₱. :norton
