:rofl:rofl:rofl The concept art had the rugged tough look of a SCORE Trophy Truck.... but this (yeah it's similar underneath to the Bugly I am assuming).

If this is what Jeffries and Baldwin & Co are running... I'm baptising them to "Eric & BJ's Golf Carts" :poser

Just before the 2014 Dakar Rally that starts in January, 2014, X-raid succeeded in adding another major asset to its driver line-up: With Qatar’s Nasser Al-Attiyah, the German team successfully signed the experienced and extremely fast 2011 Dakar winner. Together with his long-term co-driver, Spaniard Lucas Cruz, Al-Attiyah will contest the event with a Mini All4 Racing......

God damnit. Don't remind me of that. I was so successfull surpressing that memory. :huh

    I don't know if there's a car-thread, so I post it here:

Nasser Al Attiyah is back with the X-Raid-Team. Will there be even the slightest competition this year?

Not entirely true... He burnt some bridges when he left BMW X-raid to take a seat at VW... then when the VW gig closed down, all the seats at (the one factory team left) Mini/X-Raid were filled...

Hence the 11th hour deal with Flash Gordon for 2012 in the Hummer, then the Bugly project last 2013 edition with el-matador (which now seems like it's stillborn, seeing as Carlos has taken his Red Bull coupons over to Speedy Gauche and SMG :evil). Seems like BJ and Eric have inherited the bugly technology into the Jeffries Golf Carts... :rofl

So now the Qatari Quid feels he needs a full spec T1 4WD to win eh? (after trying the 2WD formula?)... wonder if he looked at buying a Hilux from the Saffer's too?

I reckon he'd be paying top dollar for his Mini spot... and wonder where (he) thinks he falls in the team order/strategy along with Perfecthansel and nani and the other Mini-guns...? :evil

The X-Raid team come with a proven package and the biggest armada of guns again this year it seems...? :lurk

He gets anywhere near Peter and his mini will be set to drop a cylinder. He's proven that he's not a team player.

They'll make him be one. :lol3

It is interesting to see Quinn Cody as B.J. Baldwin's navigator.

It's actually a continuation of a trend... When RG decided to do his "own" thing at dakar with the Hummer way back when, he secured the services of US SCORE/Baja riders with Dakar/navigation experience. ie. guys with a feeling for the GPS/roadbook based navigation and familiarity with the US offroad racing style approach (read balls out) that the Gordon/Hummer team take to the crap shoot.

Andy Grider, Kellon Welch and Johnny Campbell have all fit into the mould nicely...

It makes ense that BJ might look for the same qualities when he drew up a short list for his "co-dawg"...

I could never imagine one of the US racers coersing a pro "euro co-pilot" - the likes of Jean Paul Cottet, Timo Gottschalk or Tina Thörner to jump in the panic seat of one of the "Baja loons"... Nasser scared the shit out of his share of co-drivers... and that was before he got his hands on the Hummer or Buglies with the big wheel travel figures! :lol3

interesting yes, but to me also sad that he was unable to secure a ride and backing for Dakar.
