some companys that are truely canadian should sponsor some riders....
    how about CT or Tims?
these guys spend SO much of their own $$$ to race it ... but think of the exposure a prosperous company could get? hell, i'd even buy some Tims coffee if they had some brown graphic bikes in the future Dakars...

Unfortunately that would never happen because there is no official coverage(or very little and months late) in Canada, so why would a Canadian company like T.H. sponsor something that is shown all around the world to thousands of people except it's target market?
Sounds like a good idea if they want to expand growth beyond the border.

It's a shame there isn't a stronger Canadian supported contingent of Canadian riders and viewers.
But sadly until popularity of the event increases by the Canadian public, the few that love Dakar are left foraging for scraps of footage on the "tube of you" and updates on secret forums and back channels.
It is also our responsibility to raise awareness of the sport to the confused aunts and uncles, friends and co-workers who raise an eyebrow in an inquisitive manner when our beloved Dakar is mentioned or brought up in conversation.

    Ride on.
