ok I'll admit it I was a roundel bashing ass.

f me running this thing snaps. :eek1

If that responds in forward momentum the way it revs I'm going to be in a real tough spot.

my god they might have finally got it right. :huh

It should with the new intake and exhaust design. Plus the 125 BHP is nice. I think the main reason it sounds like that is due to the wet clutch design. The big flywheel, clutch disc and pressure plate are gone and that will allow for quicker throttle response in itself. Adding 15 BHP won't hurt either.

I like my dry clutch oil cooled boxer :D

    Oh, so rich.

First, BMW actually is successful at WSBK, despite your predictions. Now this ignominy, a GS you might like.

Put some pepper on that crow, 'flug. It'll taste better.

well I'm a long way from buying one but again if that thing pulls like it revs it's got slingshot written all over it. with some TKC's on it the roost in dirt would make an XT 500's seem trivial.

    I....could be persuaded...

I liked mine. In hindsight I blame my meltdown on Max's service managers advice to swap the block instead of fixing it. I never should have listened to him. From there my anti roundel mind knew no bounds (still does in some regards) and I admit I was a bit of an ass. Nobody fit the 1150GS like I did that bike fit me like a glove.

As far as them being successful at WSBK if they'd have done something on their own it might be meaningful but as they ran their mouths for years about their bikes being fast when they were 50mph slower than the bikes from japan and then went the if you can't beat them join them route. Time marches on and I'm thinking this waterhead or whatever they call it is a real gem and might finally be the upright seating street legal close your eye's you're on a big motocross bike without the pain and it even rips thing the world (or at least me) has been looking for. I could buy an awful lot of Nikon with what this will cost so it's a pipe dream but I'd still like to ride one.

Well, they've managed a couple wins but I wouldn't call that success, yet especially with their budget.

The water cooled GS looks interesting but I would give them a year to find all the issues the clutch and transmission are going to have before I bought one. BMW has a poor record with wet clutches and transmissions. The GS design looks like it has all sorts of interesting ways to go wrong when the end user has it.

I don't think so. That was the twin spark 1150, IMHO. :lol3

These will wind up being called wetheads or something. Those of us of a certain age probably recall "The wethead is dead" advertising from the early 70s. :gerg

Whew dodged a bullet there, I thought he had got himself a roundel rocket. Have been enjoying the peace and quiet and lurking here for some time now. Oh well all good things could come to an end.

Oh yeah, I hope you had a good Christmas and have a happy New Year Fluggy.

I'm new here so I don't know flug but after reading his initial post I thought he may have had a stroke. After reading your responses I guess all is well with the man.
