Subscribed and looking forward to the rest of your journey.
Enjoying the ride report so far. I grew up in Mobile and been to Dauphin Island a zillion times. That bridge in your last set of photos is referred to as the Dolly Parton bridge by local folks.
Need to try some vienna sausages and saltine crackers with that hoop cheese. Now that is a southern delicacy
Dear Dave and Julie,
I am sorry for your loss. Thank goodness you have a friend , in the form of your bike that can make it a little easier to bear. Dave I am so glad to see a new RR by you, you certainly have helped me make connections on my rides, i do get the most out of meeting folks on the road and I learned a bit of that from you.
Thanks Jabreu in CA

Hello Dave and Julie
Just saw your thread..... As always captivated, and appreciate the thoughts and words that you "pen".
Loved the comment from Ralph. We can learn so much from people around us, if we listen. How cool to encourage you to follow a dream and not put it off!
Interesting - I am reading a little book by Dr Spencer Johnson which is titled "Who Moved My Cheese" - an Amazing Way to Deal with Change in your Work and in Your Life. Dave your ride reports allways reflect change, perhaps that is why they are so interesting and worthy of publishing to a wider audience. Enjoying the ride from this side of the pond.
I've been working a lot and missed the latest gem until now. As always I'm in.
The Handwriting on the Wall: Change happens--they keep moving the cheese.
This is a great book about adapting to change. Now, I'm going to have to read it again. Thanks, Jim.
2 weeks to write 2-3 days RR, come on man speed it up!!!
so most people would write about similar events as "We went to the beach with the family. It was nice out". You are one of the few that can actually capture the real events and underlying tone and feelings! do you like having us all in your head, with you?
keep it up. cant wait for anything else. you could probably type up a restaurant menu and keep my interest.
Hey Pops, nice family ya have there, your other family here on ADV is happy for you both.
Man we have so much in common... just back from a week at Gulf Shores, this is just like being there again..
I've always loved my tea full of flavor with 2 cubes of sugar, I'm not going anywhere
Thank you for sharing your family and thoughts with us Dave.
WRITER LIQUID ! ! ! YOU NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME! loving your family pics and dialog. in 3 days, i'm going riding for 22 days and won't be able to keep up with your post. but if you're in Gettysburg July 1/2 i'll buy your a bunch a beers!!!
Gotta say lately I find myself saying "Oh hell yeah" in my helmet- I blame you
That's the biggest multi-quote I ever saw.
Following along here Dave. It's a privilege to read your reports that share heart and soul. I became an ADV inmate after reading your Trippin' in the Sunshine report in '09 and realizing I had seen LoveShack parked outside a Hampton Inn in Lumberton, NC on a very cold night during your ride south.
Dave, Julie and family. I find I always want to be where you are. It always seems better there no matter where you seem to be.
Happy trails and good health. Duane
Why do you always hit me right in the gut? I stopped reading your stuff so I wouldn't have to face myself.
