ah, man. tears in my eyes already? seriously? and, just on the intro.
still in, tho.
Agents iDave and iJulie, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to be a Christmas present to a young woman fighting against the world to make it on her own in a far away land. Your mode of ingress will be a trusty steed, a battle hardened veteran from many wars with adversity and Mother Nature herself. The duration of this mission is unknown. This message will not self destruct; that would just be rude.
When I moved out it didn't bother me much at all. Course my parents had split, I'd lost my little brother, and had been raised to take care of myself. Missed Padre, but that's mainly because we either were in a rifle match or on motorcycles every weekend. When Haley and I moved to Charlotte it was the first time she'd ever really been away from home (the house we had after we were married was only about 20 minutes away from where she grew up), but after a few months she got the hang of it. I have a feeling your girl will be just fine.
I've now worked 3 days of my current 6 day tour. I arrived home tonight, tired, sore and ready to go to bed. When I sit down to look at ADV, I see it. I'm like a kid in a Candy Store, giggling like I'd just won the lottery. Mrs. Stain asked if I was stoned or drunk, to which I replied, "Neither. Its another iDave Ride Report." The quizzical eyebrow I got as a response was answered with the two paragraphs about those of us in the trenches, and I think she understood.
Dude, I'm settling in. I waiting. Your second post already brought a tear to my eye. And I'm in for the long haul. Bring it.
ARe you kidding me
A run to deliver a stocking
Dave, great to see you back and keeping it real, as always. Looking forward to more!
Oh yeah - I'm in too.
OK, Dave. Your debt to society has been paid (in terms of a dog story with a happy ending)
On with the show!
I'm in. - always look forward to these.
Happy New Year! Always a pleasure to tag along with you. Good to see the new pups.
Dave, Thanks much for writing and posting.
Makes for especially good reading in December/January!
My pleasure to be virtually riding along, Dave! Not sure where this year will take me, but if I am out your way I will be sure to say 'hey'. Also if you happen to get my way, I am now "bi-coastal" which in Michigan means Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. So if you happen to find yourself on either side of the enchanted mitten, you and Julie have a place to stay! Enjoy every mile!
Welcome back iDave. Safe travels.
On the road again.......with iDave. My world is righted again. My initial encounter with ADV forum was with Kaneman. It was a fantastic if not controversial thread that I hated to see end. Then I stumbled on iDave, Julie and Loveshack. All his reports are as capivating as it gets. Then I picked up on GSBones and Iceman and my days and nights were filled with the wonder of iDaves photography and writing of these unbelievable adventures. Its been a long time since I've seen a post from Bones or iDave and I was truly concerned something was amiss. But to wrap this up, as I said in the beginning, the world had been righted again.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
iDave, about time! i still have the xtra room in jax, fla....
What better way to start out the new year than another iDave report.
Happy New Years Dave.
Bring it on...
Glad to see another iDave thread! Great way to start the New Year
We lost our 14yr 5 month old Husky to cancer earlier this year, rescued a 9 month old Husky shortly afterwards.
That pup is trouble!! Huskies are a different breed. Thanks to our 9 month old, my wife just discovered it's going to cost $768 to replace the chewed seat belts in her truck!
Enjoy, dogs rule.
Back to the report....
Nice bike, I have the same one. I'm about 50k behind you on the mileage but I'll do my best to catch up. Thanks for telling your story.
