To look at Rocks? Humm. There's only about 80 million, gazillion rocks in Central OR alone, not counting Eastern and South Eastern OR. :rofl

Tony, at you least you can't say you weren't invited. And yes, you should've listened to me but take heart, nobody else listens to me either.

Going to Pullman in June? For graduation at Wazzu? You may have significant slabbage involved so I'd take the 625. Kurt W. on this trip took his 640A and felt it really worked good.

Just want to add one more thought to this report. Above my avatar pic it says "wannabe adventurer". For all of you who read these reports (like me) but never do a big, all-day, multi 100 mile ride or multi day ride, I want you to just do it! I've read many reports and saw the pics and wished it were me.:cry This time it was me! I can't do this very often but, I will do it again. So should you.:thumb

I think I just have one pic from the second group of 4 that turned around at Paisley, 60 miles of slab to Silver Lake, then 70+ gravel putting us right back into Bend on China Hat Rd, which was a blast.
Unfortunately my XRR started sucking an excessive amount of gas the last leg of the trip (<10MPG) I had to siphon gas twice, thanks Randal and thanks Greg, I wouldn't have made it home without you guys.

Here we are at my second pit stop for gas.

I had a great time on the ride, I learned a lot from all the experienced riders (who seriously rip.) Hopefully we can all make it out again, maybe in a different direction!

Jesse, you blew by me several times. You've got skills too! Did you figure out what the problem was? Send me this pic, I need to post it in the DRZ forum!:lol3

Tony, you're welcome anytime. Just have to get over here!

Randall, you'd do the very same thing if the bikes were reversed!

He put in $3 at Paisley, but I gave him a little more at China Hat.

That thing was burning through the fuel for sure. :eek1

Naw, that's about where his fuel should be for Paisley to Silver lake with the fuel he left with. My range with the same tank is around 100 miles (FULL)and he did 65 or so with 2/3 a tank. NEVER PASS GAS.

Edit: What I mean is "if I left Paisley with the same amount of gas I would have ran out on China Hat also"

Your bikes problem is that it has only two throttle postitions: off and WFO.
Maybe you should experiment with others. But your right about never passsing gas. Passing gas can get you into a stinky situation.:kboom

Thinking about doing this last weekend in May. Is there a motel in Paisley?

Can't wait but gotta go back to the UK first. If my buddy bails, I may be looking for someone to tag along.

I gotta log into bds more and get on some rides.

I've not stayed, only passed through. We toured one of the rental cabins ($80/night). It was clean and looked very comfortable.

Does Silver Lake have anything? It's 51 miles north of Paisley up Hwy 31.

    Summer Lake is the bomb.

Silver Lake has a little Motel too.

    :D

edit: If you stay at SL, tell Duane, the owner (if he's there) that you're one of the BDS crew. Helps our cause.
