Gotta give props to Dave for the route
Look, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.... Sorry, could not resist.
I like it!
400psi took me on one awesome this past Saturday. We headed out around 9:30 a.m. to a cool brisk morning. We started from the West Asheville area and soon found our way to the BRP. I saw snow in several areas on the BRP. The weather and views were spectacular! We soon found our way to a dirt/leaf covered road with more great views and I saw a black bear as a added bonus. I'm not sure of the road names we traveled but we were mostly in Jackson and Heywood counties. We saw several lakes and drove across a big hydro dam. We also saw several other dams along the way. 400psi may be able to share the GPS track of our trip and have some photos to share. I did not take many pics on this ride; we kept moving at a good pace.
We went on an awesome ride to Hurricane Creek 12/02/11! The temperature was 28F Friday morning as I pulled the KTM out of the garage. Having good cold weather gear, the cool morning temps were not a problem; well, for me anyway. We started in Candler, NC fueling up and headed to Leicester via Hookers Gap and South Turkey Creek. We then took Hwy 63 to Trust, NC for a splash of fuel, then we were on our way to Hurricane Creek. We rode Hurricane down and back, topped off our fuel in Hot Springs and were on our way to Marshall, NC. We rode back to Asheville following the French Broad River and somehow found our journey ending at the Wedge. What a way to finish the day! Total trip mileage was around 135 miles.
Yes, coffee was a good thing to have this cold morning
Fueling up in Trust. What a cool place!
Before going down Hurricane Creek.
No pics of Hurricane????
I'd never be able to ride with you guys... I'm not color coordinated
I did not get any pics while we were in Hurricane but Dave did. Maybe he will forward me the pics and I will get them posted. Somehow we all managed to have matching riding gear too.

Thought I would post a few photos from our ride last week. I got to try out the new Shinko 705's on the gravel and they worked out great. They also preformed well on the wet pavement as it rained soon after we started our ride. The route consisted of gravel from Bent Creek to Mills River and our Yellow Gap road. We topped off with gas Brevard and headed back to the BRP via a few dirt roads. The fog was very heavy and thick on the BRP. Even though the weather was a bit crappy, we had a great time; around 140 miles.
Ice on the BRP!
Good ride.I need to get up there and learn that area better.I'm constantly traveling through Brevard and H'ville. Some times I get into Asheville.

not sure if I get my bike situation figured out in time, but I'd love to take a smaller bike over there...
