My compass broke, so I'm not sure where I am!
I am on the eastern side of the state, but there is a lot of good riding in you neck of the woods, How far do you typically ride in a day? and are you into camping or hoteling it?

I just took a day trip, Boise to Silver City to Jordan Valley and back. If I recall it was about 145 miles and about 3 1/2 hours. It was great. Had to do my first creek crossing. I am new to adventure riding. I just purchased a BMW R1200GS last February. Another fun ride was the Succor State Park ride starting just inside Oregon and running back to US 95. I'm going to make the trip to Atlanta, Idaho soon.

I recently did a breakfast/day ride from Weiser to Baker City (taking very little of I84), then 86 to Richland and on to Hell's Canyon.... crossing into Idaho and coming out on US95 at Cambridge, ID. My buddy was riding a Harley, so we didn't take any gravel side trips :lol3 . That trip was ~215 miles, and there are several options to extend that distance into an overnight with more loops. With this in mind, consider Joseph, OR or a campground in Hells Canyon. Also, you could go from Cambridge up to McCall - then back down.

If you are more into gravel roads and side trips, there are too many to explore.

Have fun! Going into some of the local establishments has led to some great memories.

    I just did a Lowdon-Crouch-Atlanta-Featherville-Ketchum trip
Garden Valley-Atlanta about 45 miles good gravel road, Atlanta-Featherville 22 miles, first stretch pretty rough with switchbacks, Atlanta-Warm Springs FS227, great ride, passing great fishing water, 65 miles. I did the ride in one day, total about 20 miles asphalt, 160 miles dirt/gravel road, but was about 100 miles in the pegs, on a BMW 1200 GS (non-ABS), carrying about 75#, pretty tired when I hit Ketchum. You you could then go back ususal highways to Boise.

Yeah, if you go near Featherville definitely check out Trinity lookout, it has a sweet view with a road to it. Blacks Creek Rd is a fun way to get there if you like the dirt.
