As a UK passport holder I am allowed up to 90 days in most if not all the countries in South America without a visa.

Does that apply for your motorbike? After looking on the relevant pages I see mention of 30 days
If it is only 30 days, is that only for bikes on say a UK reg?

If I bought a motorbike in Peru for instance would that give me the full 90 days?

    Hi LOnerider,

Most South American countries initially give 90 days for you and your bike with the option to stay an additional 90 days if you get an extension for yourself and your bike. At least that was the case in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina. Uruguay is the exception. They give you 90 days and the bike one year. That is where my bike has been parked since April. I will return in November to continue my South American adventures.

Hope to see you down the road amigo.

    Kindest regards,
    John Downs
