V-Strom-650-thumb-res-jpg-5786-default-large.jpeg I know Eureka just got dumped with snow, but does anyone know how the Denali Hwy is at this moment?
I rented a bad ass Suzuki 650 dual sport bike from MotoQuest & have 24 hrs to ride that bad boy.
I'm planning to ride up to Paxson and then cut across Denali to Cantwell and back to Anchorage.
Going south is not an option.

the paper had a thing last week... John Shandelmeier jr. said it was open... cold, snow in the shadows & elevation, wildlife late because spring is late. I was that way (and north) a week ago & all the lakes had at least skim ice on them still. I concur, spring is late up there. my guess its OK. maybe cool and moist but no mosquitos to speak of

Maybe consider Valdez? The round trip from Anchorage is enjoyable, scenic and can be accomplished in a day if you get an early start.

Ive done Valdez many time already and want to get Denali more, this time I want to take my time and really explore.

Also note. I just called Eureka lodge and they said all the snow has already melted.
I'm planning to give it a GO.

Safe riding everyone, see you on the road

Nutty, I will be in a group of 6-8 that will be crossing it tomorrow. Don't back out, we didn't buy /rent these bikes to follow Harley's and Subaru's on the slab! Follow your dreams Mate!
